MightyMidget Posted August 12, 2003 Author Share Posted August 12, 2003 if you've ever played Galactic Battlegrounds or clone campaigns, i'm making a map of the imperial fortress for jk2. Its gonna be on a massive scale, about 30-35 stories high a story being 1.4 times the height of the player. I'm gonna make a labyrinth underneath that connects to a network of secret passages in the walls, and there is gonna be lots of traps . So yea that's my project for the next 2 months or so, and i hear you can port jk2 maps to jk3 so it'll work for jk3 too . Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A map of that ungodly size is a huge task, playing it won't be an easy task either, even for good systems. Perhaps you should take into account the fact that not everyone's system is high-end. Karshaddii Posted August 13, 2003 Share Posted August 13, 2003 I think it is 35k--but I was never able to reach that size in Ju'Nekliama, which was the biggest map for JO to date before I split it into several maps. It was at 20,000 brushes before it started giving me errors, but the brushes aren't the problem. It's the patch mesh, entity, and shader limits that you will reach far beyond the brush limit. I was at 8,000 patches when it started to give me errors, and that was after I reached my shader limit.
