Wudan
Cancel that. This is the third Lord of the Rings TC I've seen, one I was a part of. You can't move forward without the OK from Tolkein's people, technically. Both previous TC's failled while waiting for permission, apparently it takes 6 months or longer for them to respond to requests.
Emon
You could say to hell with it and do it anyway. If they try to shut you down, ignore them, and if they really try to shut you down, then stop.
Wudan
True, I really doubt they would try to shut you down as long as you keep true to Tolkein, and not the movies, although it is blurry, I'd lean towards creating your own material, rather than reproducing the movie's.
