remixor
Well, this is the first time I've created a thread in the temp forums (and likely the last). Hooray! Anyway, I've been blitzing through Space Quest III, and I've reached the part where you have to fight Pug in the robots. Here's where my idiotic pure-adventure-gamer skills kick in, and I'm absolutely useless at these arcade things (though I had no real problems with Astro Chicken). I've fought this guy and died dozens of times now, and I'm really at a loss for how to beat him. Anyone have any quick tips or strategies for winning this confounded fight? Roger needs your help! BigJKO
Oh, wow! It's been a long while since I played Space Quest 3. I think I just hammered him like a cornered monkey and won, I think.
remixor
Thanks for the reply JKO I tried that, but unfortunately every time you attack and miss, you lose fuel, so even though you end up getting a few hits on him, attacking nonstop generally makes you run out of fuel faster (since he blocks hits). As a side note, it had been years and years and years since I'd played the game too, although IIRC the first time around I was quite young (and had been raised on the not-so-lethal LucasArts games) and I don't believe I got any farther than when you around on that little grabber device, still on the first planet. twifkak
Been too long since playing that to help, but you could always ask someone over at the Subpspace Forum.
yacek
It's been 10-11 years since I've last play it so I don't remember how I've managed to win, but that's what they say in walkthrus: * You must be aggressive to win. * Push him back to the far wall, and punch often. * After he is back against the wall, a side step may protect you. * Don't mess around with blocking too much. * When you get a good lead, just keep punching. I hope that'll help you
remixor
Thanks yacek. I haven't played since I last posted here (until that point, it had all been in two sittings so I sort of lost my momentum), but I'll definitely try it out.
