Celeron
Make sure you are putting the CD in the same drive every time. It has to be in the drive it was installed from. Also, it appears JA is using some sort of copy protection, which is probably the reason many of you are having trouble reading cd1. How old is the drive you are reading it in? It seems the older the drive, the harder a time you are going to have.
DarkendShadow
its a dvd drive man its always in that drive! whats going on!
Master William
I am a Zelda fan too! It rocks. Anyway... Try to insert it into all sort of drives you have. And also try to update your computer, maybe some driver is too old for Jedi Academy.
Mordred
i dont have the game, but they probably useing Safe Disc, whihc is pretty nasty even more if u have a old drive. some will make the game hang on boot, (normally at a splash screen) other will keep asking for the CD. but best thing u do can apart from a new drvie is get a NO CD, i had to do that with GTA 3 until the patch came out which fixed the problem
Tesla
but best thing u do can apart from a new drvie is get a NO CD Read the Sticky thread above that says NO Warez Discussions, and yes that includes No CD Patchs.
Mordred
its not warez, he has bought the game and cant play it because of some ****ed up protection, this happens alot with Safe Disc, and thats about his only option apart from waiting to see 'if' they fix it in a patch or going out and buying a whole new drive for no real reason (and its still not 100% that it will work) just trying to help the guy who cant play the game he bought, i know i have had this a few times myself and its damn annoying

WadeV1589
NOCD patches are definately not warez, they're there for people who get game slow downs as a result of using the CD. As long as you own the original CD, a NOCD patch is completely legal... If the game requires a lot of data from the CD, your best bet is to copy it to your HDD using CloneCD or Blindwrite or something then use Daemon Tools to load it, it can emulate all forms of copy protection to allow you CD access at HDD speeds! Again this is totally legal as long as you own the original CD. Don't forget you're allowed to actually copy a CD for back-up purposes provided you hold onto the original and the copy. cayqel
Do you have another CD drive? I had the same problem and then I installed it on my other drive and it works fine. Could be a firmware issue with the drive.....
ASk
Your drive is not compatible with the copy protection

LBaron
ok this happend to me once, the way I fixed it is 1 I used only a single drive to install and 2 I used that drive to run it. I had a slow install and run on my dvd drive (safe disk doesn't behave with many dvd drives) so im using my burner to run it. Hope that helps some. Kurgan
I would NOT advise using a no-cd crack. Not only is it against our forum rules (but what you do on your own time is your choice of course), but it will just give you more problems than it will solve. People have been posting the CL_ParsePacketEntities error (which comes from using a hacked EXE or cd crack) and getting banned for it, don't let the same thing happen to you... I'm sorry, but this is an issue you should post in the bugs thread and ask Raven about. Are you sure you're using the full, legal, retail version? Did you fully uninstall the demo? Surly Chap
This also happened to me when I installed Jedi Academy on my burner, however I just kept trying repeatedly and it finally installed.
