Those emotes...

All of the "emotes" will only work in Duel or PowerDuel game modes while you are playing.

In the rest of the game modes (including lightsaber challenges in FFA) you can only use taunt.

Obviously Raven felt that having people sitting around meditating or bowing doesn't have a place in CTF, Siege, FFA, or Team FFA.

Emotes will also work in Single Player, but I would point out that "thereisnospoon" is not an emote, but just spins the camera in slow motion in SP. They should work in both SP and MP without cheats btw.

Here is how to use them in Duel/PowerDuel/SP:

bind <key> bow

bind <key2> meditate

bind <key3> gloat

bind <key4> flourish

bind <key6> taunt

PS: You can also just look in your Controls (under Setup) and there should be options to change them right there. ; )

I want to know WHY was meditate one of the emotes only in duel? Who's going to sit down in the middle of a duel? If raven wanted to make the players happy by including their beloved /amsit as a default emote... Why didn't they put it in FFA like what happened in Jedi Outcast?

And we still have to kneel and look down in FFA duels. :roleyess:

Simple, looking badass, especially on the Yavin duel map you could get alot of distance between you and your opponent, so you could be "calm" and nicely sit down waiting for your opponent to catch up with you, and stand up in time to re-open the duel.

But no one in Jedi Outcast duels used /amsit in duels. Only in FFA so they can chat and talk about their sweet Darth Maul skin.

This ^ is a very good idea. I will have a long chat with Gearbox to include emotes (especially meditate) in Halo: Combat Evolved. I hate these newbie games that lack emotes. I would like to /amsit in the middle of Blood Gulch and chat about my leet Master Chief skin.

I always thought the purpose of a taunt (they are actually called taunts, the term "emote" is something that we've picked up from JediMod and the like, which are MODS for Jedi outcast) was to "taunt" (that is, make angry) your opponent. ; )

To provoke them... so a taunt is supposed to make them go after you, and its a nice way to say "ready."

The sitting down one shows you're so relaxed (because they're not putting up a good enough fight) that you're willing to put yourself in a super vulnerable position.

Or, it could be a (another) nice way of saying "I'm away" (for people who cares about that sort of thing.
