Anyone played rebel strike yet?

It has been getting pretty average reviews... the graphics look great, and there seems to be a lot of content, but they don't seem to have fixed the gameplay flaws from the last one.

and apparently the on foot missions that everyone was so excited about completely suck. (as expected.)

Its weird,

- first there was Rebel Assault 1&2 (Great graphics, crap gameplay, tried too many genres),

- then Shadows of the Empire (Rebel Assault in 3d)

- then Rogue Squadron (Took the ONLY good bit from SotE (the speeder bit and expanded it)

- then the Battle for Naboo games (Added back ground vehicles and made the game worse)

- then Rogue Leader (added back space combat, didn't improve gameplay)

- the Rebel Strike (added back foot combat... basically all the way back to Rebel Assault but in 3D.... but the gameplay STILL SUCKS!!

Talk about a wierd evolutionary cycle... crap gameplay geat refined down to good gameplay and then they add back in all the crap gameplay to basically end up back where they started...

AND THEY DIDNT MAKE A DECENT TARGETING COMPUTER/RADAR!!

It is such a nice engine... it is such a shame...:(

yeah, im tempted just for the old vector arcade games... but not at this price.

Tie-Fighter 2.... sigh:D :D :D :D :D

or privateer meets Han Solo & the millenium falcon. sigh. :D

Actually, im surprised that Nintendo haven't flooded the airwaves with RS adverts... it is just the sort of game that looks amazing to watch and combined with the price drop of the gamecube I think some full on advertising could really start shifting gamecubes...

actually, Nintendo don't seem to do much advertising, and when they do it is all obscure and doesn't actually show the GAMES themselves, which are the system's strong point. depressed sigh.

TiE

if it was on XBOX then it would come out on PC. There dosn't seem much point in owning both as they are so similar. If i didn't play games on my pc I might buy an xbox, but as I want a console that complements my PC rather than duplicates it the GC is great. JUst mismanaged.
