BongoBob
Well, I have used a skateboard for transportation, but have never been good enough to go down to a skatepark and start doing tricks. Today my friend took me to a nice free public skatepark in his neighborhood. I was afraid of doing anything at first and just stood there. I hated it, because I felt like a poser. Then someone yelled out at me that I was a poser. All of a sudden, when I was about to go home, my friend all of a sudden stops skating, and yells out,"No he is not! He is learning! There is a difference! Everyone has to start somewhere!" The guy immediatly said he was sorry, and then all of a sudden, everyone that was skating there helped me! I was soooo happy! By the end of the day, I was almost ollying(jumping) and did this: ________ | |O Path | * | | * | | * | | * \ / | * / --------- | * \ / *********** | * \ / * * | * \ / * * |_______________* -------- *______________________________* / \ / \ | | | | | | Quarter Pipe Ramp I went down the ramp, partly up the quarter pipe, and went down the opposite way! I was soooo stoked XD Tomarrow I am (hopefully) going back with him, so I can try going down the quarter pipe! I was tought how to forget about my fear and just go for it! I feel acomplished:D Anyone else here skate?

snowman21
way to go! I use to skateboard but i found it too hard. They just built a skatepark right next to a dairy queen (the perfect combination) in my town, but it was skateboard only. I'm only good at roller blading. I was bloody mad . That was nice of those skate board guys to help you.
KBell
I used to, i was pretty good too. I was more of a street skater, so i stayed away from most Vert ramps unless i was bored. The last trick i finally stuck before i quit was a 360 Kickflip actually, which was pretty cool. But then all of these 13 year olds started acting like the next Tony Hawk and filled up the area with posers, so most of the older skaters just quit. Jared
I used to skate, but I just...stopped. I used to live in a group home and they had a ton of skateboards there, so I learned, but, just kinda abandoned it when I moved back home like a year ago...so...yea. It easy once you get the hang of it. Just expect to break a few bones now and then;)
BongoBob
Thanks guys. I want to go back, but I can't today:( I am an all-around I guess. The next thing I'm going to learn is how to drop into a QP. Oh well. I guess that I'll settle for playing the new Tony Hawk Underground game on my cousins PS2;)

BongoBob
Sam, check out wal-mart and you can get an X-Games board for like 25 bucks, and then find a free park in your area that has a quarter pipe and then try and drop in. Just find someone there that's good, and tell them you're new and want to learn. Most skaters are glad to help each other out. Same thing for you Jaden007:)
