To save you the months of research and annoyance that I went through last year...

MilkShape is a great program for modeling, but if you want that model to work with the animations, or even work at all, you need 3D Studio Max.

No buts...

...it simply will not work any other way.

 

No other program can export it with the bones, to the .xsi format you need, to compile it to a .glm with Assimilate...

To make you feel bad for Not saving yourself a few minutes of useless posting.......I have 3dsmax. It is in 3dsmx. I said so in the first post. I need somone to bone it or whatever.

Its amazing how people dont even read all of your post before criticising you. So you just need this bad boy weighted?

 

If I had the tools to do her with I'd take a stab at it myself but I can't find the proper plugins for my 3dsmax

 

(Its r3 is that a problem?)

 

Also no hd space :(

I have Squall's gunblade that works in JA, I just need someone to make a mod that will give you a clear colored saber instead of simply replacing one of the current colors with clear - so not a good idea!

 

If the model gets finished he can be released with his gunblade :D

Theoretically should be totally fine in JK-2 especially because from what I remember there is a way of making the saber color clear...I'm still trying to work out why this isn't in JA...:mad:

U do know that if Squall gets finished he'll need some quality one on one with Seifer. I'm pretty sure it'd be easy to make a Seifer..

Just a tought I might tackle that myself once I can get this hulking machine able to model as a practice..

 

One thing at a time though yes?

i'm already doin a seifer skin, absed on another model, which doesn't fit it PERFECT, but kinda well though. as i don't have any screens of the latest version, i will post the skin map here... not for any other use of course:

You should just ignore the rolled up sleeves and mmake him long sleeves.

maybe make the rolls like elbow pads or somthing. But he looks like a 80s cluber with the mrolled up. I look Pics of his clothes you made theyre really good.

 

But got ne face pics?

OK sorry dude didnt see his face! NOw i seen the link.

I think you shoul,d reskin the face. It looks like its still dantes face with a scar. Dante for whatever reason dont have eye brows either. seifer does!

rite, so what's with ya squall model?

i know you can't get it ingame yet, but i would love to skin it!

 

i haven't really done the face properly, i just edited stuff, the body was done form scratch.

 

i don't need pics of his face, as i know how he looks like and i don't use pics for my textures.

dante model is kinda strange, talking about that it always look like dante, no matter what i skin 'em.....

 

well, send me the uv-mpas of dat squall model, i would loooove to skin it.

(btw, i'm getting 3dsmax soon, so, too, so i might be able to get it ingame after working through some tutorials)

I appreciate the effort on seifer.. But I think that the model ur using is limiting you a hell of alot.. You probably would have been better off using the 'Clone Emporer.' Better face map for Seifer I think.. ACTUALLY You didn't hear this.. I'ma take a stab at Seifer on 'Clone Emporer' myself. *sinister grin*

thanks, tough, the skins i released for public aren't by far my best ones..*embarrassed*. for example i can't understand why so many ppl like htte-luke..

 

i will then start skinning while a friend of mine does the weighting
