Concussions are fun!

Okay, there's some background to that statement: Today, during lunch hour, I was playing football like I normally do. I had the ball running up the sideline and I tripped over someone's foot... Next thing I remember I'm in the nurse's office with an icepack on my head. Turns out, I hit the ground hard (and the ground is gravel and grass) and I couldn't remember for the life of me what had happened the whole day (I do now). I was checked out and I went to the doctor. Turns out: I had myself a Concussion.. Only 7 more to go to tie Steve Young's record!

I'm of the opinion that everyone needs a little head trauma now and then...

ok, seriously, sorry to hear that, man. I once was chasing a volleyball, during gym class, out onto gravel...slipped, skinned my entire left leg (well, the left side of the left leg) from the top of my thigh all the way down to my ankle. So, large pieces of my skin missing (lovely thought, ain't it) and lots of dirt immediately shoved up into the wound. Hurt like hell. Went to the doc's...I think he came up with the brilliant diagnosis that I had slipped and skinned up my leg. Though, I did get the rest of the day off and we soon moved out of that school district for one that had less gangs in it (I'm not kidding, gangs in middle school & frequent knife fights *shudders*) and a better edjumakational system. So, all-in-all, I guess it was for the best.

Now that I'm done with my horror story, please feel free to get better as fast as possible and do watch where you're going next time. :D

I had a concusion once. I was running through my house to go grab something from my room. I was in a really good mood (I don't remember why, though) and out of excitement, I jump into my room. The problem was I jumped a little to soon and my head met the doorframe very hard. I'm 6'4" so I don't have very far to go to hit the doorframe. I feel to the floor imediately and the only thing I remember is asking for help. I was in such pain that I could even yell...only talk, thankfully my brother was in the next room and he heard me. (actually my dad in the other end of the house heard the bump) My brother helped me off the floor and got me into the bathroom tub because I was bleeding. My mom and brother helped get the bleeding stopped and my dad checked me for a concusion. He said it was only a minor concusion, but it hurt like hell. Plus, my hair got stuck in the wound when they put pressure to stop the bleeding. I couldn't comb that part of my hair for 2 weeks. Then the scab broke up enough to allow my hair to come loose. Not fun.

Hope you get better soon. I have one suggestion: VERY STRONG PAIN KILLERS!!!
