I was wondering two things:

- Does everyone here have a portable MP3 player, and if so what size?

- When does it get to be 'too much'?

The reason I'm asking - especially the 2nd question - is that I had a 5GB iPod since they came out over 2 years ago, and just got a 40GB iPod. Before that I used Compact Flash cards (starting at 32MB back in 1998 or 99 and eventually hitting 512MB before I went to the iPod) in my Pocket PC's and used Media Player.

The 5GB forced me to make careful choices what I had on it, and have separate playlists in iTunes for iPod and non-iPod, so for instance I might have a playlist with 3 full CD's for an artist representing a specific period, but the iPod playlist might have 8 or so songs from that playlist. The 40GB, on the other hand, allows me to sync my entire music library and have room to spare (I still have CD's I've not ripped, though ...). But having 100 playlists or whatever, and thousands of songs ... a bit unweildy.

What do you all think?

Well, I recently aquired an APple iPod as a late Christmas present, and I can say that this thing is sweet. 15 GBs is alittle too much, but:

a) I didn't pay for it, so I couldn't care less

b) I no longer have to worry about size limitations for all my songs

c) It's just so damn much
