guybrush *wood
Hi! I have copied the mp3 files (downloaded from http://scummbar.com/miamigapc/mipc-amigamusic.zip) in the directory where i have installed "secret of monkey island" vga CD version but scummvm (ver. 0.5.1) play them "slowly". It's like it doesn't recognize the bitrate... In the FAQ of scummvm is written: <quote> 7.5.0) Using MP3 files for CD audio: ------ ----------------------------- Use LAME or some other mp3 encoder to rip the cd audio tracks to files. Name the files track1.mp3 track2.mp3 etc. ScummVM must be compiled with MAD support to use this option. You'll need to rip the file from the CD as a WAV file, then encode the MP3 files in constant bit rate. This can be done with the following LAME command line: lame -t -q 0 -b 96 track1.wav track1.mp3 </quote> I have downloaded the binaries so I don't know if my scummvm has been compiled with MAD support (but i hear the music so i suppose it is)... i am wondering if perhaps the mp3 files haven't been encoded in constant rate of 96 kbps... in fact winamp tells they are 128 kps.... Anyone has my problem (and has resolved it) ? thanks in advance! Best regards, Guybrush (yes why not)
Benny
Try the latest daily build of ScummVM and see if that fixes it
guybrush *wood
Hi bgbennyboy! Thanks, it works greatly now. I have also tried another way: i have decoded the mp3 files to wav and then i have encoded back them using "lame -t -q 0 -b 96". Unfortunately this way doesn't resolve the problem. Thanks again. Silverflint
I tried using the vdmsound program to play MI1 with proper sound. Although the sound is now there, it doesnt work properly because sometimes it slows down and then speeds up! Do you know why this is? Also, the version Im playing doesnt seem to match any of those listed in the versions section because the graphics look totally different!
Joshi
Use the scummvm version instead, it's better.
