Druid_Allanon Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Yup, now with EU, Chewbacca's dead, Fett's back, and I THINK Anakin died too.
LukeKatarn Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 I did not read the book when chewie died but I heard about same thing with Aniken Solo:( .
Neverhoodian Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 That's from the NJO series, which is a feeble attempt to siphon cash out of Star Wars fans by making the series take a controversial turn into generic sci-fi by introducing the "anti-Borg," (Yuzzhan Vong) and changing the very nature of the Force. Consequently, I haven't bought into it. But that's for another thread. Personally, I don't mind Fett's return that much. After all, there probably wouldn't have been a Jango Fett (my favorite bounty hunter) in Episode II if Boba was left alone.
kaleuo Posted May 2, 2004 Posted May 2, 2004 Yea but the real question is why did he show up in Return when I had blasted his ass to bits all the way back in Dark Forces 1!!! When considering naming conventions it is important to remember JA is not JK3 it is Dark Forces 4 as that was the original game in the Kyle series, way back before he was a jedi when he was just a whinny little ex-imperial soldier not a whinny little jedi.
Kurgan Posted May 3, 2004 Posted May 3, 2004 If you want a more direct parallel with Star Trek in the EU to the YV, it's "Species 8472" (who were the nemesis of the Borg incidentally) from Voyager. Uber "bio-tech" species with plans for galactic conquest and a superiority complex. And of course this was before the NJO series was created. ; ) Still, I'm told uber bio-tech is a sci-fi cliche these days (Babylon 5 has it too apparently). ============================ Here's the chronology (IIRC): Dark Forces (starts shortly before ANH and ends sometime before ROTJ). Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight (takes place sometime after ROTJ) I don't recall the exact wording, but I think it was "a few years after the destruction of the second death star" (ie: ROTJ, Battle of Endor) Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith (takes place about 5 years after JK) My memory is a bit fuzzy on Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy. It's a bit confusing because they refer to "8 years after the Battle of" and then either Yavin (ANH) or Endor (ROTJ). So you have to back track and piece the timeline together based on that. According to the "Official Literature" from ANH to ROTJ was 4 years (even though the actual movies came out over a 6 year period).

Pnut_Man Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 He was eating donuts, I saw him! Get the slacker! But uh, where is this thread going ? Boba lived the Sarlacc, even was haunted by the chilling telepathy of the Sarlacc (or that might have been a force sensitive inside the Sarlacc, I don't remember).. Rescued by Dengar, as far as I know, and then went off to take a much more 'relaxed' line of duty in the outer rim worlds. By the NJO, he had formed some Mandalorian Task Force and was running about frying Vong arse...
