Commas
whether or not you like manaan i think everyone can agree on one thing: the underwater part of manaan freaking sucks. my plan is thus, replace the eviroment suit with some kind of rebreather like obi wan and qui gon in episode one use, therefore letting you use your lightsaber and force powers and move faster when underwater also, now that you dont have to wear that horrible enviorment suit we will need some harder baddies than those firaxans, i figure since selkath are fish people a few insance selkath outside the station could work. i mean just tons of firaxa sharks and selkath, cause the area is quite small. i also want to possible hide some new items im working on in some boxes down there. anyone that wants to help is welcome to, since i can use all the help i can get. i really havent even started yet, im just throwing out the idea to see if anyone would be interested in this before i start, but the main reason is i dont really know where to begin, i looked at t7's tutorials thread and didnt see anything about new area creation, but i could have over looked it, so if anyone one knows of a good tutorial that would be rad
Obex
I like the idea a lot. The slow ass clomping around in the enviro suit just plain sucks. As a side note, if you add item to the bins (to compensate for increased difficulty of the level), try not to go overboard on the custom items. I love the mod work being done here, but the +10 to every stat/100% resist everything type items are too much.
T7nowhere
OOPS! I thought I had this one in. gameunlimited made a tutorial on area creation HERE it is also added to the sticky. @Obex I do agree about making the items to powerful and in my last DS utility mod I tryed to tone the unbalancing down a bit. I really just made those items for myself specifcally the belt(I was sick of Malak spamming me with force lightning and it fits in with the korriban story) although I didn't change the sabers I still recomend useing Talchias Hardcore mod I find the normal highest difficulty way to easy. @ i like commas It might be difficult to make it look realistic with the selkath sinse theywould just be running around(no swimming animations) But this would really make that area much more fun to play. Commas
thanks for the link t7, i figured there must have been one somewhere, as for the selkath, i dont mind having them walk, seeing as how the pc wont be able to swim either, and will still have to walk underwater, but i really just can't stand that envirosuit, but with the friraxa so easy to kill i need some high level baddies to make things interesting and i agree about not making the lightsaber too powerful, i just wanted to try my hand at lightsaber creation, and the idea for a lightsaber i have in mind would fit well with manaan, and i too use the hardcore mod now, to balence the effects of some items i've installed
T7nowhere
On the first Saber I made I went a little overboard, but I decided not to change it. I figuer it would be a good example to others just how easy it is to go overboard and make a saber unbalanceing. Although I have had trouble killing Malak even with using it and the DS ITems I made will even make it easy to kill malak with my first Char( which was a wimp ) Maybe you could give one or two of the Selkath lightsabers( the sith could have sent them) You should have hours of fun and frustration making this mod. Jackel
slight problem with using weapons under the water lightsaber - pffft! electronics + water != working lightsaber meelee weapons - ever tried to swing something like a piece of metal under water ? the ranged weapons - proberly would work of course the toher thing is that your down pretty far and hey water at depth puts pressure on your body thats why you have to wear the envirosuit in the first place
Commas
as far as a lightsaber underwater, according to episdoe five of Star Wars: Clone Wars Kit Fisto uses his lightsaber underwater (infact, you can see it in my avatar) and as far as pressure... umm... i've got the force! hahahahaha the force beats all! CluelessDude
Yes, realism isn't nearly as important as annoyance. If you work out this mod, I will build a temple in your honor. There's nothing in the game I despise more than clanking around in that damn suit ... endlessly.
Prime
Hmmm. I kind of liked the underwater areas...
Kitty Kitty
I thought the underwater area was pretty neato... however, it does tend to get really annoying after enough replays. You keep feeling like you need to get out and push or something. =/ What's IMO, even more annoying is the bit on the Lev where you have to wear the space suit for like.. one little jog around the edge of the ship. That just becomes annoying and pointless because you move so slow, but there's not even anything out there. Meh.. would be sorta nice to do something with either/both of those areas a bit differently.. Then again, I'm probably on replay # 20 or so by now.. so the list of areas I'm getting annoyed with is getting larger. lol -Kitty
Oki
Personally, I think that there should be something like, you move around at like, twice the speed for the space walk/ocean walk. EXCEPT you can use blasters only usable underwater. How does that sound??

Commas
lol, adding the extra selkath and firaxa was the easy part, things are starting to get a little more complicated, lol has anyone posted a list of what rims are what in the game??? that would be really useful since names like "manm27aa" make it really hard to find the map im looking for, i need the names for all the underwater areas (outside the station underwater, ocean floor, and the star map area) and all the areas that have doors that lead to those areas (Hrakert Station, that other station right before the starmap) because i think i am going to need to alter the doors for those areas to get rid of the envirosuit restriction and change it to a different item (a modified breath mask that you will find in the same room as the envirosuit)
deathdisco
FYI, the burst of speed power works under water. You have to cast it before you enter the air lock. Unfortunately it doesn't work on the Leviathan.
T7nowhere
If all you wanted was to move faster you could just change the suits in appearance.2da columns moverate, driveaccl and drivemaxspeed. I haven't tested it myself but it should work.
dufflover
Manaan and Leviathan suit walks are very, very boring. At least slow, and as everyone knows, there's nothing outside of the Leviathan! Well, while you're waiting for something to happen here, I can give you a tip: Activate Force Speed just before activating the airlock. Now sometimes you lose the force speed after a level load but it doesn't happen often. You will move twice as fast, which although is still pretty slow, it's better than nothing. Yes, I know, if it runs out you can't turn it back on, but for me, Force Speed seems to last forever... Note: I only noticed myself hobbling twice as fast. I can't actually give you any numbered things to prove it. This sentence is here cos I know armor stops Force Speed.

Jackel
an easy way to figure out what each level is from just the names manm37aa is to use the warp cheat and warp there ie bring down the console and then type warp manm37aa or what ever the name of the rim is eg manm28aa would be the map you run in to Calo/Bandon at when Mannan is the 2nd or 4th star map you collect
