borked
Using the Padawan Mod 1.3 from Talchia's Swoop Modding Garage (http://home.t-online.de/home/talchia). So I start as a jedi class, but in battle my char can't die, he just gets beaten to 1 hp and stays there. How do I solve this?
Jackel
do all your other characters survive the fights aswell? if so then thats part of the game , but if all three (or two if oyu just have you and another) die ie fall tot he ground and dont get up , then you getthe "your party has died" line is this what happens ? or does everyone else drop to the floor and you can keep fighting for ever and a day ? just want to clarify something here
T7nowhere
Ya I noticed the same thing with that mod so I stopped useing it. What happens is that your other party members will die but the PC health will stay at 1 % no matter how nuch damage you take.
Jackel
well that sucks ... unless there is a patch from Talchia to fix that , its his mod after all, i dont think we can do much about it
T7nowhere
I Think Talchia, Lil' Jawa, HazardX, Andargor plus several I can't recall right now have fallen into a black hole. These are a few of the guys that got me into Modding KotOR and were fequent posters when I first dicovered this Forum, but all of a sudden they just seem to have disappeared all at the same time. Hmmm? LOL
Jackel
just had a thought on the not dying thing we can declare the force is keeping you alive for the purpose of balancing the force out and from what i can see at Talchias site he is working/was working on something big as a mod the others i ahvent seen around , maybe check out that other kotor website and see if they are hanging around on there

borked
Well, I removed the patch yesterday to test it out on normal kotor, seems like the problem carried itself over. On the Endar Spire both Trask and the PC wouldn't die. This is Incredible! 6 replies in an hour.. ooh boy....

Helodermatid
The thing is that (unmodded) kotor is set up so that you cannot die on the endar spire anytime before trask leaves the party to fight dark bandon. I would guess that since this mod takes you directly to Taris after giving your jedi level, the invincibility flag carries over and is never reset. Maybe playing around with the global variables in the saved game will reveal something you can manually change to make you mortal again.
T7nowhere
I wasn't aware that you were invulnerable on the Endar Spire. lol Well If thats the case then It would only be a matter of either changeing the script that warps you to Taris or write a new one that turns off the invulnerability before you warp to Taris. It's funny that I never caught on to that. I guess I just always went though the first level so quik that I didn't notice.

On lots of factors really.. the topic at hand, the time, the day, how buggy and slow the forum itself is being that day.. how rude the original poster is about demanding replies.. yadda yadda. I've seen some threads go from 1 post to 20 in under an hour some days. *shrug* Originally posted by T7nowhere I wasn't aware that you were invulnerable on the Endar Spire. lol Well If thats the case then It would only be a matter of either changeing the script that warps you to Taris or write a new one that turns off the invulnerability before you warp to Taris. I never used the padawan mod, but I also never died (or almost died) on the Spire either... so the news was a revalation to me too. Interesting to know though... Once I can figure out the variable that sets and clears this immunity, it could make for some interesting possibilities. -Kitty
tk102
Here's my hunch: the global boolean CREDITPLAY Edit: Nope that's not it.
gameunlimited
In a character utc file, there is a field that is called "Min1HP". Perhaps changing your character file in the save game file MIGHT just solve this. Probably not the best solution though.
tk102
Yeah, I knew I'd seen something like that somewhere. And it does work. <Inspired enough to include it in KSE v1.3.0, now released>
borked
All I have now is kotor_savegame_editor1.2.2 Tried googling for "kotor KSE v1.30", can't find anything. With 1.2.2 version, I tried comparing the globals between a normal save and a Padawan Mod save both at the time when just hit Taris. Even with the Padawan globals set to same as with the Normal save I can't die yet. Perhaps the min-hp setting like you suggested will work but it's not in the 1.2.2 version, so perhaps you could help me with that.
Prime
I noticed the same problem when I was testing my skins. I warped to the grove on Dantooine to fight Juhani. My test character is at level one and gets chopped down quickly but never dies. I have noone else in my party... I guess it is good I didn't plan on using this mod anyway
deathdisco
That's strange, I've never had that problem with that mod. I'm currently using it right now and my PC has gone down a coulple of times all ready. The one I had problems with was the RevanReincarnate mod, I kept getting stuck in the Jedi enclave. The link from the tools sticky thread, or the original link posted in the save editor thread will lead to the new file. If you still seem to get the old one when you use them, clear your browser's cache files. -Kitty

deathdisco
There is i a fix for that (you probably knew that... but I'm informing any how ) Yeah I have the Dantooine patch, but that dosen't help me get past Belaya(sp?) on my way out. I perfer the PadawanMod anyway. I just make sure Carth has extra clothes and the prototype vibroblade equipped, since it's suggested no one should know you've been trained as a Jedi. I thought running around with a lightsaber would be obvious. Taris is more fun with force powers:)
