No. Braces are attached to your teeth, and are a much more powerful way to shift your teeth. Retainers are removable and are typically there to either keep your teeth in the position they were put in by braces, or to slowly shift them.

without turning this into a dentistry thread, I think we call them plates down here in Ozstralia......

ah well IG, at least you'll have Hollywood perfect teeth by the time you're 18....

Yep, my sig sums up a lot of things. ;):p

IG, I think your life sucks. :p I mean, really, you're bored 99% of the time, you get viruses on your computer... a lot, and you now have to wear a retainer which you hate. (Not that having a retainer is bad, but...)

Hehe, just messin' with ya man.;)

Actually, they said the'yr not going to be perfect, but as close as I can be. I have a size diffrence between 2 sets of teeth somewhere and they said that can't be fixed, so to keep them near perfect, i'll have to wear a retainer. I still haven't got my braces out, I still have 3-4 months for that, then i'll have to wear a retainer night and day for a year, then i'll have to wear a retainer every night for the rest of my life.

I also have to wear retainers every day once my braces are taken off in the next year or so. I've had them before. They're not that bad. But...

btw, if today's virus is called W32/Pate.b, your next virus will probably be called something like "W31/Ham.a"

Well, I had my home computer for about a year before I connected to the internet...and the first time I connected I got the MSBlaster worm...of course, I didn't know that at the time, I just knew that every time I connected to the internet, my computer automatically started a 60 second countdown to restart...it was SO annoying.

I sent emails to Microsoft tech support, Emachines tech support, and my local ISP...I still haven't heard anything from MS or Emachines, but the tech support guy from my ISP got back to me the next day...of course, I had to read his email at school...it's really, really difficult to check your email in 60 seconds...especially on a 56k connection.
