tFighterPilot
Is it truly good at all? I dunno. I spent three days on this, three hours a day. First, the model looked like a bumble bee. So, I scraped that and started over. Took me a while. Let's just say that I am not good with geometric shapes and trying to align them with un-geometrical lookin' stuff.I wish I had your will power

I dunno, I've always wanted to contribute to the modding community, so I started modding, and I try to finish what I start and I try everything that I think of. I thought of the NJO Series Asteroids TFFA Mod. I wish I was skilled enough to make a Chiss Claw Craft, that would be very NJO-ish. Everything that I know about modding (like what works, doesn't work) is from trial and error. I hate reading manuals. They take up too much time, and I never understand them. They aren't user friendly. But, then, I have to ask the whole modelling community on how to model, but at least it makes sense (unlike the manuals...)!! Yeah, I didn't think you knew for .md3's Darthviper107. Oh, well. I e-mailed KOTORMRJAY. Problem: His e-mail address (hollywood8 [at] hotmail.com) (stupid spam bots...) is full. His other "net golf" one or whatever has so much spam that it is full and he has stopped using it since last week. I wish he had another e-mail address, LOL!! Well, is there anyone besides tFighterPilot that thinks my model looks good? Umm, hope someone will help!! Edit- I forgot, do I need a bolt_driver? darthviper107
No, you don't have to have a bolt_driver, but make sure that if you don't, it's disabled in the .veh file.

I don't think it matters really. But you useually just copy from another vehicle, so it's disabled as default
PR-0927
O.K., I added a bolt_driver. BTW- I was bored. So, I took three more screenshots. Here are the links: http://www.geocities.com/majinrevan/coralskippermodelscreenshot2.JPG http://www.geocities.com/majinrevan/coralskippermodelscreenshot3.JPG http://www.geocities.com/majinrevan/coralskippermodelscreenshot4.JPG You may have to copy & paste because of the Geo Cities "no hot linking" thing. tFighterPilot
As a thing that wasn't nor in the movies or games, I doubt there is a wrong way to do it Good model, when will it be skinned?
PR-0927
As soon as I can contact KOTORMRJAY and get it exported. Then, I need to find out how to actually make the skin. I mean, I can skin, but I don't know how to create one for a model. KOTORMRJAY's inbox is still full, and he hasn't been on MSN Messenger for two days. PR-0927
O.K., I added more stuff to the Coralskipper, and I have a new screenshot. BTW- The bolts got merged with the Coralskipper because I always "group" everything together in it. So, I put the bolts again. They are the pink triangles on it. Here is the link for the screenshot: http://www.geocities.com/majinrevan/coralskippermodelscreenshot5.JPG You may have to copy & paste because of the Geo Cities "no hot linking" thing. PR-0927
O.K., I finally contacted KOTORMRJAY, and he said he'd help me...later, after FSF/KFS is done. So, I need to send it to someone to export it to the right format for the game. I added the bolts, but will they stay on during the exports? I hope so. I also need to know how to make a skin for it. Do I make a skin for it when it is in .gmax format, or does it matter when? After that question is answered, I need to know how to make a skin for it, LOL!! I would really appreciate it if someone could help me and export it. Don't worry, they will get the credit for exporting it and teaching me how to add the skin. Make sure that if you do this, the bolts are still there. If you need to make any corrections with the bolts (like maybe I'm supposed to put bolt_muzzle 1, and I put bolt_muzzle1) go ahead and do it. DO NOT mess with the model and the posistioning of the bolts, please. Here is the link to get the model. It is in a .zip in .gmax format, but should be able to open in 3DSMAX or SOFTIMAGE: http://www.geocities.com/majinrevan/coralskippermodel.zip Thanx!! No, gmax files aren't openable in neither 3D Studio Max not SoftImage. You will need to export it to some other format.
PR-0927
Grrr.......... I guess I should export it as the file that GMAX exports, either that, or as a md3. Then, I'll post about where to add the bolts, since mine won't stay during the export to .md3 (probably). RoxStar, same thing happened to me. You need to buy something from them, then you can download stuff. It sucks. I've been looking for another place to download SOFTIMAGE XSI, but I can't find a place. Tell me if you can. tFighterPilot
The bolts will stay, since they are normal polygons.
PR-0927
O.K.!! Thanx!! You made my day better. I was beginning to worry that it might not be possible.
darthviper107
Yeah, you have to export it to .md3 to get it into Max, just make sure the dimensions aren't too big, if they are it will like cut it up during export.
