Sabretooth Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 Who says that the classic battles will be erased? You can play them, anytime. But just for fun, for messing around and for answering "What Ifs" you can choose a cross-era battle. Battledroids vs. Imperials will be cool, on say, Kamino! Yeah! Or maybe Naboo, or Hoth!
fuzzyfreaker Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 According to PC Gamer, who had an interview with some guy at Lucasarts, you will only be able to play Rebels vs. Imps and Clones vs. Droids. There will be no mixing of the two teams available. Although it hasn't been told if you'll be able to play Rebel vs. Imps on a planet like Kamino...
Doomie Posted June 10, 2004 Author Posted June 10, 2004 And what about the vehicles? i mean, are they depending from the map or the side you choose? If you play clones vs. droids, would there be snowspeeders and AT-AT's or droid fighters and gunships?

Poggle Posted June 10, 2004 Posted June 10, 2004 Yeah i can see that being a disaster waiting to happen
Doomie Posted June 10, 2004 Author Posted June 10, 2004 True. But then you'd have clones piloting AT-AT's, or maybe even the snowspeeders. It would mess up the battle's pretty much. i mean, the rebels and Imps could go to the prequel locations, because they're still there in their time, but the other way around wouldn't work well i think. On a side note, what vehicles will the droids have anyway? Considering all their vehicles have a mind of their own...

The Devs only have so much time to balance the sides, taking the time to figure out a way to balance all the factions against all the others is a pretty big waste of time (IMHO). While it could be kinda fun to stack Fed Battle Droids against Stormies, it's just a lot of work that takes away from other balancing issues.
Sabretooth Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 Dammit! Why don't the developers reveal anything to us?
FroZticles Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 HAHAHA Pilot I think I remember you on the zone. You were talking all this **** in the lobby all the time hell funny well actually it wasn't..... Unless your a different pilot but your name is virtually the same.
Milan L Posted June 11, 2004 Posted June 11, 2004 I don't think you can pick a side. The clones and the droids are equal towards each other, and so are the rebels and the imps. For example putting droids against stormtroopers would lead into a giant droid massacre, because simple hailfires can't stand up against the overwhelming power of the AT'-AT
Sabretooth Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Mods, people! Don't forget the mods! If nobody makes one to fix that, I will!!!

Not to mention all the units would be so similar due to having to be balanced for all vehicles and weapons...
Milan L Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 Well, apparently, you can pick a side. Jasperw has started a thread about it.
