J'ando
Is there any way to make just a saber crystal that works with the in-game sabers or do you have to make a new saber to use it?
T7nowhere
You have to make a saber aswell as the crystal.
J'ando
Guess I'll have to try to make sense out of Achilles' lightsaber tutorial then. Sounded pretty complicated to me and I've always prided myself in being fairly intelligent. Maybe once I download the tools and start doing it'll start making more sense. Funny thing is I just want a white lightsaber w/o having to add a whole bunch of extra stuff to my game

I would love for someone to use it and offer feedback on how to make it better. Please feel free to PM me with suggestions!
J'ando
As I thought, makes much more sense when you're doing it and going thru step-by-step. I successfully made a white bladed saber set including all three types, inventory icons, and my blade actually has a normal-sized glow rather than the tight/faint glow I see in most screenshots. I'll make an attempt at a screenshot later. First I'd like to ask how to change the description of the crystal and saber So the desc for the crystal no longer says Color: Blue and "inner blue light" Once that's done I'll have made a standard white lightsaber that isn't any more powerful than a regular one and is upgradeable. Now if only we had a way to compile the mods into a single file Anyway I'll look into uploading it pcgamemods.com once I get the desc's incase anyone wants it. You should then be able to change the description of the item (the one that you see in-game when you're looking at it in your inventory). LocalizedName: Same thing with the -1 and the 0. This time the text that you enter will be the label that your item has in your inventory (ie Lightsaber). The Comments field really has no effect on your saber. I hope that this info helps. BTW: Any changes needed on the walkthrough?
J'ando
Walkthru is fine, you just can't have never even opened KT and hope to make sense of it. Okay I got the pictures uploaded, here's a look: Single Lightsaber Single and Short Double-Bladed Saber I'll change the descriptions I need to tomorrow when I get home from work and hopefully have it uploaded for anyone that may want just some white lightsabers tomorrow night. (Being the 11th of June, that is)

shangoman
You can make just the crystal but then you have to edit each lightsaber in the game to let the game know what to add to the weapon when your crystal is used. That's what the "UpgradeType" line in the sabers property list is for. You'd also have to edit the "upgrade.2da" file to add your crystal. You may have to edit other files too, not sure as I'm just getting into modding sabers myself. check this post out, maybe the author could give you info: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=129868&highlight

The process is very similar to adding a saber to upcrystals.2da when you're making a lightsaber upgradeable. I'd be happy to make a walkthrough if you're interested.
