thesubconscious
I'm trying to add transparent effects to only one part of my weapon model, yet still have the whole mesh use the same skin map. Is it possible? I'm not very keen on how to do the whole "shader"/Effects. do they have to be different skin maps for this to work? thanks! Lil Killa
First.. tell us (me).... Are you trying to make something that is just a little transparant like glass or weird energy stuff? Or something with absolutly nothing in an area(s)?
thesubconscious
I'm trying to make a bottle that is both transparent with some semi-transparent liquid in it, and has a shiney, non-transparent, metal top. If all of that is not possible, I would still appreciate any help that could allow the bottle and liquid to be transparent but have the top remain colored and non-transparent. Lil Killa
You'll need to use a .png. It will retain partial and complete transparancy. (.png files are supported by JA if you were wondering) just add the tranparancy in photoshop or whatever you're using and save it as a .png file
thesubconscious
thanks, lil killa. Hey, so thats all I have to do? I don't have to mess with any fancy 3d settings in the modeling process? I just apply the png file (with different shades of gray in the outerlying layers (layer 1?) and leave layer 0 colored the way I want it? Anyway, thanks for the heads up.
