New EfMI launcher crashes

When I'm trying to play EfMI with higher res, the message box says that there were no errors, but when I try to play the game the screen blinks for a sec. and I'm out, back on the desktop.

The original exe works fine, the patchedmonkey4.exe won't start though!

I have the latest launcher and the patch, by the way.

What version of the game? English? Is it a proper copy or has it been cracked or whatever?

 

Maybe your video card doesnt support the higher resolutions.

I have an original straight from the box English copy and a geforce FX 5600 256MB DDR...

 

So it's not the res.

What resolution does youre screen usually allow and what are you trying to achieve?

My monitor supports res up to 2048x1536.

 

I tried both 1024x768 and 1280x1024 and it crashes in both.

It looks like you're in the minority of people (so far just you) for whom the patch wont work.

 

There's nothing I can suggest really.

meh, considering this threads already here, I might as well point mine out. I'm not too bothered about it, but if you're in to refining it at all (I put it on and realised I didn't want to play the game period so you probably wont, but if you do) I sometimes get little vertical lines on the screen, they don't make much of a difference and the game is still fully playable (it doesn't distort anything), buty you know, just to let you know it's there.

 

Oh, and also, the cutscenes occur in little boxes about a quarter the size of my screen, up in the top left hand corner of my screen. This is actually an improvement because on fullscreen it looked crap anyway, but just so you know (incase you didn't already)

Aye it happens for me too. The patch is based on the findings of jeunealbert in that other thread, so the credit is his really.
