Morgan_Hearst Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Is it just me or does the blue lightsaber in this screenshot look bigger than the ones in the first KOTOR? Screenshot Could this be one of the effects of the new lightsaber components?

The shot looks like worms eye view with the blade pointed almost right at you.
Morgan_Hearst Posted August 16, 2004 Author Posted August 16, 2004 Just my imagination then. Ah well.
RedHawke Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 I do like the massiveness of the setting in that pic, especially the whole huge docking bay or reactor room look, I just hope we have a little more up and down camera control in KOTOR:TSL just to take in the background stuff like that.

I seem to recall the Devs saying that free look would be a little more....freer ...this time.

It could be that the saber in the right hand (red) is a short saber and the saber in the left hand (MotF?) is a normal saber. Unless, of course, they changed this (i.e. no short sabers) and I am not up on that fact. If that is the case, then I am with Achillies.
RedHawke Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 ^^^^ They are two standard lightsabers in that screenie! And actually that blue color is growing on me!
FiEND_138 Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 The color looks pretty good. Just hope they take a look at fixing the end of the blades, to get rid of the weird point on the ends, or atleast try & blend it a little better. It could just be camera perspective, but they sure look crappy with that edge.
jedi_5002 Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 @RedHawke I was just going by way of the screenshot. I didn't look to see what the description was (where ever it might have been).

There is just the screenshot, of a PC wielding 2 standard lightsabers, one red in the far hand, and one blue-ish in the near hand. The short saber has those two fin like things that surround the blade a little near the hilt and neither of those sabers have them.
Morgan_Hearst Posted August 24, 2004 Author Posted August 24, 2004 Can anyone recall seeing short sabers in the screenies or vids so far? I never really understood why the offhand short weapon bonus applied to KOTOR. After all, afaik, lightsaber blades are weightless and I don't recall ever seeing a short lightsaber in the movies. Let hope they have been done away with.

Prime Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 You'd think the much higher attack bonus would be enough...

I never actually looked at the short saber model, as I never use it. I also hope they do away with it. It is not in the movies, and I never use it, so wasted space as far as I am concerned.

adillon Posted August 26, 2004 Posted August 26, 2004 Originally posted by Morgan_Hearst Is it just me or does the blue lightsaber in this screenshot look bigger than the ones in the first KOTOR? it's not the size that matters ... it's how you use it!
jedi_5002 Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 ^^^, but for a lightsaber, not being too short does matter. Originally posted by RedHawke Prime don't forget the defense bonus Dueling adds as well. And Jedi_5002 I was just playing! I didn't get that . I need more sleep... A lot more sleep.

With that in mind Jedi_5002 you should probably go use that soft flat and comfortable piece of furnature, with pillow, sheets, and blankets, in the next room... it restores vitae and removes fatigue.
