Why do a lot of people disllike the prequels and the EU?

Hi all,why does everyone hate the prequels so much ? I thought that they were great ,ok, there was jar jar and a bad fireplace scene ,is that the only thing that makes the movies bad ?Whats so bad about them in everyone elses eyes?And,whats so bad about the EU? I think it expands the ever growing dream of George Lucas .....STAR WARS.

They just aren't the same as the OT. A lot of us think that the PT (so far) was more directed to little kids/teenage girls.

 

Can't answer the EU question, don't read much of it.
