Having trouble editing an Item, please help.

I tried looking in the tutorials, but I got confused by them half the time, and it looked like what I was doing was right the other half.

Basically, I want to edit the Genoharadan armor so that it shows as the red version of this armor, without losing any of its properties.

So I got the armor, modified the body and texture variations up to an AC8 armor (i.e. seven) in a seemingly unused texture spot (seven, again).

Then I put it in my override folder.

However, despite there being a matching .tga file (named PFBG07.tga), the armor just looks like normal.

Changing the texture variation makes it display other armors, but never heavy ones as I'd expect with a 7 Body Variation.

My question is; is what I'm trying to do impossible? Or am I merely just doing something wrong?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer. :)

I believe you need to change the base item to that of the armor you want. If you're using gff editor you'll change the number from 38 to 42. Hope this helps. One last thing I think this will also change the defense bonus for the armor though.

Correct.

If you want the same defense bonus and max dex bonus you can copy the current class **** line in baseitems.2da (which ever one pertains to your armour you want it to look like) and paste it down the bottom of the basitems.2da changing the number on the left (from line 38 say to 93 or what ever it is) and then the defense bonus and dex bonus lines to match the line that the geno armour is on , plus the required feats piece aswell. (open up feats.2da to find the numbers for the armours so you know what to change).

Save the file ,load up your geno armour uti file in the gff editor and change the baseitems line to match your new one.

Well, there is just one other thing...

What's the easiest way to remove the evil appearances so that my character always looks normal? I'm fed up with my evil character looking downright disgusting when every other bad guy in the game doesn't have to look like they have some sort of skin disease.

Simply edit heads.2da as explained here:
