Mods that would be nice to have.

1.I think playable jedi and sith would fit the game nicely.

2.Bigger and more maps, especially death star and new planets.

3.More vehicles, but i dont think thats most important.

4.More factions like the jawas, ewoks, bounty hunters, exct.

5.Mobile repair bots for certain factions.

6.More characters from the star wars world(playable).

7.New game modes where players can customize battles for sp.

 

For me jedi are the soul of star wars, the game feels incomplete not being able to play as one(good or bad).I need variety i.e. more playable heroes villians factions, i thought the game was great but could have been better if they would have added more.Maps are a bit small for flying,and some maps dont have any vehicles.Also the game ultimately needs a custom battle scenario for single player that would allow us to pick our fight and how we want to fight, wich would give the game some lasting appeal for us non mp players.TBH i am a little bored with single player already and await the mods anxiously, as a good game can be great and have longevity with good mods.I will post many more ideas, as i am not a modder myself but i have some ideas that might be helpful.I do appreciate those of you who mod and create, keep doing a great job and breathing new life into these games, you rock!

I agree with Maestro, while I can see why Jedi/Sith have been left out of the retail version I do also think that a mod where in single player mode you could be a Jedi/Sith or even play as one of the Hero units would be good to add something when you have played the game loads.

I have heard some people say jedi/sith dont fit the game balance, to me thats just unfortunate as JEDI/SITH ARE THE SOUL OF STAR WARS.Furthermore i would say there were jedi/sith in some of these battles of the game,my question is why are they unplayable?they are already in the game(darth vader,mace windu and so on..).Some people said that everyone would want to be a jedi/sith,i say lets not make assumptions like that.Cleary variety and diversity are the route to take.I propose setting a limit per team that could change based on respawn.Or a mod with customizable jedi/sith would be the best idea i think,or something you know.The question isnt why are they in the game, its how to balance them for multiplayer.I see this as the ultimate mod for this game in an area where i feel it lacks.Jedi/sith were part of these battles and probably had a bigger impact than all the foot soldiers combined.If not now,here,and in a mod, they will be in an expansion pack WHY WAIT?The better the mods are for this game,the better the expansion will be,the more satisfied we will all be.

oh no, not another jedi/sith thread.

i really dont want to get into this but if you want a jedi based game play JA or JO, jedi would be way too overpowered anyway.

and i really hope that there isnt an expansion pack with playable jedi, you already made galaxies a jedi fun zone, just leave us with the normal grunts.

However, having (non-"invincible") Jedi as is wouldn't be too bad. They're basically just a soldier with a melee weapon instead of a gun. It's just that how do you make it so that not everyone is a Jedi? Hence the balancing part.

 

But if somebody wanted to make Jedi with all the powers and abilities they have in a game like JA, well, no way that is going to happen, especially not without a robust suite of sanctioned modding tools and the SDK.

 

 

I can imagine a commercial Expansion where the Jedi are the generals commanding squads of Clone Troopers (like in the movies). This is canon material, and would be cool to see. But this is a major thing, not something I'd expect to see in some user made mod or patch that is whipped up in a week or two.

 

Perhaps becoming a Jedi/Sith could be a special "award" for a person who achieves outstanding awards for their team or a certain number of (non-team of course) kills. Thus only certain people would become Jedi and they would have to earn it. This could be tied into the leaderboards and statkeeping too (good use for 'em anyway). And by making this a special option or game mode, nobody would need to worry that they would lose their "gunner's paradise" that the game already is.

Leaving aside the controversial first one, let's see...

 

2. I agree. Expansion and modding, hopefully to come! (once they have patched the game up so it's more stable and playable of course)

 

3. I agree, there are some neat vehicles I'd like to see that weren't used, and some that could stand improvment. See #2.

 

4. Bounty Hunters would be cool. And Jawas, yay! Even if they are just AI, they would still be cool to see and add more Star Wars atmosphere to the maps they are on. Is there an option to toggle on or off "neutral factions"? I forget. If there isn't, there should be. I can't tell the game to give me more ewoks... why not??

 

5. That would be cool, but we have medics already don't we? Maybe a medical van (Star Wars equivalent) would be cool. If you just mean a "Medical Droid" skin alternate for the Medic, that would be a nice touch.

 

6. That would be cool, like Imperial Officers, Bounty Hunters, Pilots, etc. And more different heroes than just the Jedi we see now.

 

7. Custom battles? You mean like how in XWA you can set what ships will be fighting and on what teams? That might be difficult for the scripted stuff (making it fit) and balance, but who knows. Modding tools would be better, but I agree some more options couldn't hurt this game.
