E-wing = F-15 eagle

 

The only fighter never to be shot down in combat except by another F-15) and is a good example of a Space "dominace" fighter

Wouldn't it be cool if we just develop X-Wings, Y-Wings, A-Wings,ect. The good pilots of XWA could become real pilots than....

You could build an X-Wing...just use vectored thrust to act as a rudder. Replace the laser cannons with some kind of cannon and the proton torp launchers with some kind of rocket pack.

Nah the missile boat is more like the stealth bomber. Blow up some stuff and the enemy

TIE Fighter = Mig 21

 

Underarmed, low endurance and not much threat (against modern jets), but cheap to make, available in the 1000's and they can be a pain in the butt if you're concentrating on a more worthy opponent.

I think the Mirage 2000 works better as a Z-95 replacment,

 

And everyone knows the Tie fighter is based off the Zero. Fast, mauverably, and soo easy to destroy.

I love that 30 mm on the A-10 takes out MiG-29s really good,and if the angles right you can even drop a bomb on 'em.

I agree the A-10 compares the most to the Toscan or the Cloakshape,lots of firepower slow,clumsy, tough, and really good at what it does.

X-wing=FA-18 multirole

Y-wing=F-111 obselete but still useful bomber

A-wing=Interceptor, an F20 or A4 skyhawk or another light Mach 2 interceptor.

B-Wing=F22, in books it goes faster than x-wing and I have tweeked it so it does in alliance as well. Fast, manouverable but still heavy enough to deliver a bombing mission.

MY two cents is as follows:

 

X-Wing= FA-18 someone said it earlier....multi-role and very capable

 

A-Wing= F-16 Fast and manoeverable dogfighter with comparably lighter weapons than other fighters.

 

Y-Wing= A-6 intruder Old and obsolete, but still around because nothing has been able to replace it yet.

 

B-Wing= A-10 this isn't as close as the other ones, but heavily armed and goes in guns blazing.

 

As for the numerous comparisons with the F-22, nothing in xwa compares to the F-22. In fact, the F-22 is so far ahead of everyhting else in the air that it will give the U.S. an advantage in air superiority that is simply unheard of. Fast, Long Range, Superior Avionics, and don't forget stealth. I guess the closest comparison in xwa is the millineum falcon on invincible mode.
