keshire
Its possible. But not to bip. Corto gave me the idea to use Kaydara's motion builder and Human IK programs as a way of converting the xsi aniamtion data over into .bvh. Which both character studio and Human IK can use. But I think softimage itself has an bvh export option, which would be the best solution. but alas max has very very poor xsi import export itself. Hope this is of some help. Its good to see some actual questions regarding animation.
Maniac Richard
It is possible since i have downloaded the xsi converted to bip.max file. tags are there also. just do a search in google for "jka_anim_file_set.zip".
Psyk0Sith
Keshire made that max file to create new anims. He didnt actually convert all the anims to a .bip files but he linked the skeleton to a biped which is not the same thing .
Maniac Richard
Is there a way of getting the root xsi skel in max 6 since there is no importer that works?
keshire
He didnt actually convert all the anims to a .bip Yep, just a few select ones that I use on a regular basis. As far as max 6 I have no idea (only using 4.2). The newest importer doesn't import animation for me though.
