eduardoretardo
I'm getting weird big black squares on Hoth. They move around, like flashing sometimes. I have an ATI Radeon 9600SE. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? It kind of ruins that map, and that's my favorite one. This is a screenshot of what it looks like. http://home.comcast.net/~eduardoretardo/hothtextures.jpg
Stingray
I have got the same problem + I am able to see lightsources through the walls. For example on Hoth, When you are in the hangar, you can see the lights that eluminate the hallway leading to the outpost. I have reason to believe this is an issue that only occurs when you are playing a 'liberated' version of the game. So if yours is one, then I suggest you buy the game. I think it'll be solved then. Dragonball Fan
It might be becuase you have an ATI product. You know, all of these big campanies now are making their games for and with nVidia graphics cards in mind ( since nVidia is paying them to do it ). So that also might be your problem. S31 Apoc
dude its not ATI thats LAME.. something is corrupt or a driver is old or something..
Dragonball Fan
Lame, you say? ATI has many bugs in its drivers also. There are a few games out there in which no nVidia user has had a problem, but people with ATI cards just can't play the game.
Fds
Please connect brain to your hand before writing something. I have a ATI Radeon9500PRO 128mb ddr and i never saw a problems like this. The problem of eduardo can be caused by: - old driver version then upgrade to the lastest release of the catalyst - bug in game Pandemic??? - wrong graphics setting like in driver u have activated Vsync and in game u make Vsync off This cant be a physical problem (like too high temperature or memory chips damaged) because when those happen and u try to screen it u cant because in screens those things dont appear
S31 Apoc
it could also be a corrupt OS, DX9.. or several things.. Learn more about a comp before you blame the hard parts... 99% of the time is just that your comp has to much shiot on it for to long.. also make sure you upgrade your chipset drivers every now & then... reformat reinstall everything up to date in the PROPER order, maybe even the bios also.. read read read... if you still have problems start exchanging parts untill you find the conflict... that will bee 100 bucks plus the 30 a hour for the time it takes you to do it... Really.. I dont charge alot the for the labor, just alot for the know how
Fds
Don't be so much pessimistic... Many times is only a old driver Ed, u can found here the lastest official catalyst: http://www.atitech.com/support/driver.html

eduardoretardo
No, I bought my game. And the problem was actually an old driver, updated it and it seems to work fine now. Thanks for the ideas FDS.

swmprt971
I had the same problem with an NVIDIA 6800gt when settings were turned down TOO LOW..showed black boxes on the menus and during game play..had to turn features UP on game and TURN DOWN my overclocking utility to eliminate the boxes..runs perfect now.
