SelenityMoon
Ok, so I -mostly- figured out my problem. Originally I wanted to merge to PC mods into the same .d2a file so I could use both because otherwise they would conflict. I got the portraits merged right, but now when I go onto Kotor to see if it works it's not using the right head model. All the numbers are right. Errk I forgot to say the pc head mods I'm trying to put together is Kitty's PC Mod and Aalya Secura PC mod (It gives you 4 different female twi'lek skins). And as of right now it's convinced that the head that's supposed to be kitty's mod is a blue twi'lek head. I went through my .2da files in the KOTOR tool - and everything at least looked right to me.. So I wonder - does anyone have any clue what I did wrong? Or do I need to do a new .2da files? The only other thing I can think of is apparently .NET for the Kotor tool didn't install right as it says it's missing some dialong.tlk file that's supposed to be at C:/ so it crashes sometimes. I'm using Windows XP Pro incase that matters or not. I do have another technical question but I'll ask that later, I'm more interested in getting this one to work right first. Achilles
It's been my experience that if you're changing heads, you may need to look at appearance.2da and heads.2da in addition to portraits.2da. If a mod is simply replacing an existing head, then you might not have to deal with any of three aforementioned 2da files. However if the mod is creating an entirely new head (like Orsan's Obi-Wan head mod), then you might be staring down all three at some point. I hope that helps. SelenityMoon
The mod adds new heads and I added the enteries to the heads.2da, appearence.2da, and portrait.2da. The portrait appears right as does the body I believe.. (I should go look at that). But head however does not. While I renumbered and made sure everything at least looked the same, the game is still convinced that kitty's head is a blue twilek and not a red haired girl. >< Should I try doing it the other way around and adding the enteries to the Aayla Secura mod to the Kitty's PC mod and see if the problem still happens? Did you try starting a new game? If that doesn't fix it, PM me with your email address. I might be able to take a look at it for you.
T7nowhere
Unless the files are corrupt it shouldn't matter Wich one you choose to merge. Are you having problems with Kittys head appearing as a twi 'lek for all 3 classes or just one? It sounds more like you have the wrong number from heads.2da in the normalhead column in appearance.2da. Check that the correct head is in Appearance.2da. SelenityMoon
Thanks I'll have to check that out. I do have one other question and instead of starting a new thread since it kinda falls under here.. I guess.. as technical question. I want to edit a clan file (that mandelorian guy to be exact on dantoonie) so he drops both the items from RedHawke's patch and two modded lightsabers (Pink). I have that Robious GFF Editor.. but I'm not so sure what to do or how to add enteries to the clan. So.. does anyone know how to do this or can point me in the direction of something that could explain how to? And thanks to everyone who's helped me out. T7nowhere
You can add items to npc's by editing their utc files. I think the npc your talking about is dan14_sherruck.utc. You can find this utc in danm14ac_s.rim. To edit the file simply double click the utc and the utc editor will pop up, down onthe lower left hand corner is the inventory Button, Click that to bring up the inventory editor. In the area where it says Pack invetory is where you would add the resrefs for the uti's now the only way to add custom items to the invetory is to add another item from the Game Items list then just change the ResRef to that of your custom item. When your finnished click ok save the utc to override And when you meet up with Sherruck he will have those items on his corpse. The only draw back to this method is that you have to enter the module for the first time so that the game loads your edited UTC.
SelenityMoon
Thanks T7. I tried changing under appearence.d2a the normalhead number so it matched up to the numbers in the head file.. but that still didn't fix it. It's not supposed to do that is it? Darkkender
quick question are you using chagrin's mod manager to load and unload the mods. if so I would suggest deleting the mod's in there and then deleting there kmm files and then re add the mods back in. I have discovered that when I tweak my files alot of times if the file such as appearance.2da has not been unloaded when I adjust this that it will just rewrite back over what I change without warning at times. If the numbers match up in heads with appearance then the Last thing it could be is the Portraits.2da. In Portraits.2da appearancenumber, appearance_s, appearance_l must also match the 3 class lines from appearance.2da. Other that that I can't tell ya what might be wrong, But if it fails your last alternative would be to start with a new appearance.2da, heads.2da and Portraits.2da
