There is a comic series on younger Dooku, I wish I know its name.

We KNOW that Qui Gon did not train Dooku.

 

Well, to be fair, it is possable that sometimes a Padawan would be assigned/re-assigned to a different master, and vice versa, due to "special events"

 

During desperate times even a masterless Padawan may be considered for trial and Knighthood without continued training of a master, whilst most of the time they will train with/by themselves until a new master is assigned.

 

Younglings that are weak, though, are usually condamned to the eternal service of being a stinky farmer.

If IIRC it was the other way around. Qui-Gon was Dooku's apprentice.
