Natty
Not that anyone cares. It just means 3more years of asslicking Tony Blair and George Bush. I'm so over this. Why did we not vote for the greens so we could have free drugs? I did and now I feel ripped off.
JofaGuht
Four more years of George Bush where I am. As super democratic and anti-Bush as I am, I hate Kerry equally and will screw up the world just the same. But a reinstated cabinet wouldn't be bad either. We need Ascroft, Rumsfeild and Cheney out as well, and Kerry might put in a better cabinet, even if he's not equipped to be president himself. Edwards is sweet so I guess that's okay. Seriously though.... But that brings up a good point. You know, in 2002, Bush got rid of the UN-regulated voting process, so they're no longer inspecting it. Now we've got touch-screen voting that leaves no paper tail and and possibly have a few last-minute patches added, it's not too far-fetched that perhaps no matter who America votes for it will wind up being Bush. Skinkie
Not everywhere is touch screen is it? I thought they were bringing that in gradually.
JofaGuht
No, not everywhere. That doesn't mean it's not potential to tamper with in the places it is though.
Puphlicus
Touch-Screen voting is wrong, on so many levels. I guess since, in America voting is not compulsory, so the argument that one can forcefully prevent informal votes has no real meaning. I hate the Greens as much as anyone - they're the third biggest party in Australia, currently. It's a real shame. The Greens and the Democrats have both proven themselves unworthy to hold the balance of power. Who could forget the protest they had to the Marriage Legislation Amendment Act 2004, for instance. Bad polices, bad parties. I hope that here in Canberra the Liberals will be elected with a clear majority, and put an end to Stanhope's reign of terror from the ALP. In a perfect would the Christian Democratic party would hold the balance of power for the assembly. The election is this saturday, and we use the Hare-Clark electoral system, the best electoral system in the world.
