KingGurus All Maps Unlimited Flying Mod

KingGurus All Maps Unlimited Flying Mod

 

This mod changes every map in Star Wars Battlefront game to allow for flying and moving of units out of the "pre-programmed boundries".

 

You will not be told to 'return to the area or suffer any consequenses'. Some maps are little difference but maps with flying/ships and tight spaces should have been released this way from retail.

I think soon we will see mods from players that allow other flying vehicles to adorn maps that currently have none but for now 9 of the 15 maps are modded.

 

This adds another nice strategy for those who want to pick people off with snipers or get around the back of a base unnoticed , find places you were never allowed to venture.

 

note:

 

This mod will affect all the maps you patch but not a single item in gameplay has been changed. On some maps 1-2 items such as a tree, gas spray, mist, extra huts or similar non important visual aspects that is usually out of sight or in a slightly less traffic area which will not affect play has been changed/moved. These are superficial changes to let me know its running the mod.

Not all map boundaries are named the same although quite a few are named boundary1.

 

Also, removing the boundaries can crash the game if people fly too far off the map.

 

If you look at the files you can downloaded I uploaded a mod of bes1.lvl that moves the boaundary coordinates out much farther without it having a big affect on the appearance of the skydome. It also makes it easy to get lost in the clouds.

 

You can try using that file to create new boundary positions in other levels, but you may run into the file size problem.

The Bespin Mod I released removed skycaps (as well as added a floating central base). I just finished removing the caps on all levels enjoy -=All Map No Fly Cap Mod=-

 

Crashed games from flying?

 

I have seen boundries in the files but I've not edited any since they aren't needed.

 

There should be no crashing..but please post otherwise. Thanks.

The file is up , download and please post your questions here or on the site. The delay is due to packing issues with the patcher. Subsonic and I are researching some new patching tools for better single file releases that make auto backups of your files before modding them.... Anyhow enjoy the mod.

Just tried it out. Good stuff. Geonosis is definetely the way it should have been - at least I'm able to get some frags on the geonosian fighter :D

 

I just thought it would be also useful to release flycaps for Theed and Rhen Var: Citadel maps. Mos Eisley and Cloud City are closed maps, but Theed and Citadel are a spoiled by the caps... On Theed, the caps prevent you from crossing the river. On Rhen Var, they prevent flying around the fortress :(

There are flying vehicles on mos eisley and rhen var citadel? I hadn't noticed...

There are NO flying vehicles on rhen var citadel right now, but who says there'll be none in the future? The map allows flying vehicles like gunships pretty well :D

Second, there is a JETPACK, which I want to be able to use on the entire map terrain without "leaving battlefield" warnings and deaths. :)

As for Mos Eisley, I never said to release that map. I said to release Theed, because the caps are CLOSER than the other riverbank, and I want to get to that riverbank in the game (via jetpack) :) that's all.

Future updates to this mod will most likely include all maps. Im not happy with the kashyyk 1 map changes but to allow for troops to go out of range and vehicles to be flight cap removed I altered some things and in general I think after re play testing it, the 3 new huts are slightly annoying and cause "hideout" issues with the units hiding inside huts I never intended to allow to be enterable. Ill be updating that soon.

 

As far as the other 6 maps, they are cracked and ready but Im actually seeing if its possible to mod them to add flight where none has been allowed. To add an air war to mos would be very cool in my opinion , win the war in the air and in the city!
