Not a problem. It's the other way around. I was merely taking a hint on bneezy's solution. He actually commented about his former attempt to make the Jetpack work with the helmet in another thread and i thought that was the solution he came up with.:)

K, I was just wondering what problems there are...my first body export didn't go to well...:D

Than i would gladly help you, i managed to make 3 edited body models (jedi robes, soldier clothes and heavy armor) to work. If you want PM me with more info about it and i'll do what i can.:)

Hmmm...what did you do to the soldier clothes?

ah, you Managed to compile the another model with the body mesh?

No. I'll post a picture of what that does later.

My bet is that he got to make it work with the helmet mesh.

Ooh, so close.

~~looks like a greyish Clone trooper to me =S

Yes it does. The original texture is sort of a beige color. I think NeoMarz1 and the AOTC:TC team were going for a dirty, "battle-damaged" look.

I tried adding it to the helmet but that had its own problems. The helmet is only placed on top of the head, allowing the animations to remain intact. When the head bobbed around (when fighting or otherwise) the jetpack moved with the head. Which looked stupid.

When I added it to the body mesh, bad things happened. The head worked and just slid around on the neck but the body had no animations and made the weapon float.

Then I was looking at the Clone trooper head I'm working on with Prime, Xavier2, and others. In order to get the head working, we lost most head movement (like with the Stormtrooper, thanks T7). It doesn't look that weird. The Stormtroopers from the movies moved the same way, since they probably coulnd't see anything. So, the head would just sort of go where the torso went. Wait a minute, that's what I want! I want the jetpack to follow the torso. So, linked it to the HEAD model and all was well.

Bummer. I keep wait for someone with 1337 modeling skilllz to get rid of that rediculous backpack

I might be crazy, but someone once made a version of the soldier clothes without the little bedroll (or sleeping bag if you prefer.) Now, who was that? If only the search function was on.

Update: Unless they used a texture trick by making the little roll invisible with the alpha channels. No, it looked good if I remember correctly.

It was Seprithro, IIRC and yes, he used alpha channel shenanigans to make it happen :D

As usual you come up with a clever solution. That wil make the variaty of the Clone trooper army very cool to look at.

Can non-clip revan armor (or better yet Jedi-style outer robes) be far behind?

Better yet, if Darth ToMeR ever wants to get that cape and helmet working for his Darth Vader Armor, it could look something like this:

I've increased the brightness and contrast considerably to show detail.

vader2.jpg

vader3.jpg

vader4.jpg

vader5.jpg

Obviously, with SOME effort you could make this look really nice. Keep in mind that this was quickly thrown together as an example. I just bent the top of the cape a little to attach to the armor. I just import all the models I need for position reference and then delete them when I export the model.

Darth Vader Armor: Darth ToMeR (for screenshot purposes only!)

Revan's Cape: KotOR

Darth Vader Helmet: HellsPlumber (for screenshot purposes only!)

All done using the head method talked about up above. Now, if Darth ToMeR made the high neck piece disapper using alpha channels, the head wouldn't clip with it.
