toms
I just have ZERO excitement or enthusiasm for this title... maybe there hasn't been enough hype, maybe i'm jaded on SW games recently, who knows... I think i am just getting fed up of lucasarts jumping on whatever the latest "cool" trend is in computer games and shoe-horning starwars into it somehow. Usually badly, or just in time for the trend to die out... (Be it Force Commander with RTS, Battlefront with BF1942, or RC with tactical/COD shooters). Let me guess... it will start with a mission where your ship lands under heavy fire to take a "beachhead" in normandy, erm, i mean on hoth. If it was original SW then the setting alone adds a few percentage points in interest (usualy to counter the percentage points lost for the game being a poor clone of another game)... but with the prequel era this doesn't really apply. It just looks like any old generic space tactical shooter (Fire Warrior, Metroid Prime, whatever...) and doesn't look very "star wars". It doesn't look bad... it just looks very, very generic. I remember suggesting a stormtrooper based squad based tactical shooter years ago (as i'm sure many others did). I drew comparissons with rainbow 6 i think, which shows how long ago it was. That was back when the genre wasn't played out, and when a SW version might have been interesting... assuming it had been stormtroopers and not just some generic sci-fi guys. And i still can't think of a single good prequel era game.....

(though it's not technically part of the prequel trilogy, it's a prequel game nonetheless.) But I digress... I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't really care about RC. Maybe I'll think differently if I see it in action, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
