Bobo
I have understood for a long time since i attempted to mod on this game, that you could not make a model with animations. After playing Jedi Knight Jedi Academy, i noticed that the Kel Dor had no animations (Face wise) This Poses my Question. If the Kel Dor (Plo Koon) model was moved from JA to Kotor, would it be useable, i mean, would it turn its head? or not? Because the head lacks animation, it is perfect for this idea. Of Course, i couldnt possibly do this myself. So those modders out there, take this into mind. Adding a new race to Kotor might give it some good life for now, as ive seen it, after playing Kotor 100 times, it looses its fun -Bobo P.S. if the Admin decide this post is unnessisary for this forum and lock it, please respond to me by email which i wont post as rules regard, and/or IM. thx. Darkkender
While That might be possible in the prting of a skin from one game to the other. I believe the problem lies in the fact that lucasarts has said that you cannot use original works from another one of there games as a mod for public release. I could be wrong on this but I'm pretty sure I have read this posted a few times.
Bobo
I cannot Deny that you are probably Correct. Of Course, theres ways to... move around that... In JA, the first Kel Dor Skin looks exactly like Plo Koon so either you could be sneaky, nab it, and say your just a really good artist, or use the model as a template to make your own. People on this thread are very creative, if someone decides they'd like to make this, im sure they can "move around" the "rule".
Darkkender
While many of us are creative we also try to adhere to the rules and policies set down by lucasarts lest our community be closed down by lucasarts. As for using it as a template it might be feasible to heavily modify the quarren skin but that would require alot of detail work above and beyond what we have seen with some of the skin/model mods out there. Xavier2
Greetings Master Bobo I posted some odd results, while attempting to make changes to heads in Kotor. Look for them here: http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=134510 I have managed to make a few changes like bigger noses, thiner lips and such at the cost of neck attachment. As far as i know it is not possible. The only think that can be done is a new face texture, which of course is limited to pre-existing head shape. Hope it is usefull. cchargin
Hello all, The problem with animations right now is that there are some animations in kotor models that I do not understand how they work. So, when you export them to ascii they get all jumbled up. This of course means that you can not get them back in game. Now there are some models where animations are included and required for proper game play. Heads fall into this category. So even though a source file may not have animations when you get it in game and the game is expecting them, "bad things" may happen. I am still trying to figure out why a modified head slides off the shoulders.

PrtyLizardJedi
I kinda skipped the posts, since I'm in a hurry, but anyway... As far as I know, transferring models from one game to another is illegal. Go figure, huh?

Bobo
ive seen people copy jango's guns, Vader's helmet, Stormtroopers, and all that, but what im lost is, you cant mod a head like that? another note: I came accross an idea, Make the Kel Dor head a mask, then, make a head that is invisible. put on the mask and wala, Keldor. just some more ideas to throw around
