My mom is always mad at me for not changing the computer back to the way it is when she left it, and she is tired of it. She wants to reformat the HD and start over, and right now I can't blame her. I told her I would back up my files and get the reformat cds. Here's where my question is. I would like to, after reformatting the computer, creating my own XP user account so that I can have my own desktop and all that, and I was wondering if this would solve my problems. And if there are any disadvantages to this. I can't build my own comp until summmer, so until then I have to make due with this comp. Thanks for any help guys.

No not really. All you will have to do is after you reformat is go to the control panal and select users and create the accounts. You can also make seperate accounts during installing windows. When you create your own accounts you can have your own passwords and other people of other accounts cant view your files and have their own settings. Anything else you need help with?
