Darth Smaug
It DOES make sense..because 4 milleniums before tpm A jedi could choose from different ranks with colors, now a Jedi will be given the rank and he can choose the color of his own...So it changed...Get it?? The tradition changed to given rank-choose color...

Vikinor
He says it is only in the game and applys only to the game. And the game is EU and other books around the time that the game is in have not agreed with it or whatever. And the books are EU too so shouldn't all of the EU make sense with itself? Shok_Tinoktin
If I'm not mistaken (and I could easily be), the class system (including guardian, consular, and sentinel) is also in the pen and paper RPGs, and some of them take place during the movie time frame. The fact that the movies (and other non-RPG EU) give every impression that the classes dont exist, implies to me that it was just added to the story so that adding the jedi class wouldn't ruin the continuity of the story, and thus Jedi don't actually have these positions, its just an RPG element. coupes.
Exactly, this is just a way to balance gameplay. By creating these different classes, the designers gave players ways to customize their character even more and play with an offensive, defensive or 'balanced' character... that's all there is to it.
