harvickrules01
Ok. I've beaten the game, but my rank is still Flight Cadet. Do I have to change the difficulty setting and start over to move up in rank?
Commander Kupalo
You can up your rank by flying a lot of quick skirmishes. Thats what I would do. [This message has been edited by Commander Kupalo (edited August 15, 2001).]
JeepaPaedm
I thought rank was only determined by TOD scores.....if i can up my rank in the simulator....i'm gonna be a general very soon !!!! JP
harvickrules01
I'm not talking about Marksman, Ace and all those others on the helmet, I'm talking about the ranks on the uniform. Guest garyah99
You have to blow LOTS of stuff up. Go above and beyond the mission objectives and wreak as much havoc as possible.
Admiral Odin
if your good enough take out an SD. That always helps my score. and it is not very hard. ------------------ "Dulce bellum inexpertis." harvickrules01
Does increasing the difficulty help? Originally posted by garyah99: You have to blow LOTS of stuff up. Primarch
There must be something wrong... At the moment I am going through all the missions again, but I am just doing what is needed (I'm sick of reaching General everytime I go to Endor). I am following the mission profiles exactly, targetting only what I am supposed to, not going after every capital ship I see just to get the points (Last time I played, I destroyed the Executor 3 times, not counting Endor). Ive almost finished Battle 4 (Bothan Connection) and I've just been promoted to a full Lieutenant.
harvickrules01
So, you're saying you can keep going over the Endor missions to get free points? And, do u have the "invincibility" on or off? Originally posted by Primarch: There must be something wrong... BattleDog
No, he means in other missions, like the Vergesso asteroids mission. There has to be some thing seriosy wrong with your EXE first time I played the game I got Captain, and that was on easy.
Primarch
You encounter the Executor 2 times before Endor in the ToD Missions (Abandon Rebel Base at Kothlis & Protect Imperial Computer). You also encounter it once in a family mission (Mining Colony under siege: Rescue Aeron), though I ususally don't bother attacking that one because I cannot be bothered fighting with those TIE/Advanced that jump in the moment you take out the shield generators. Red Leader Ace
I reached Endor as a Junior Leiutenant, and I had it on easy then, and I went over the mission objectives on quite a few occasions.. I just wanted to complete the game back then, but I've recently had to re-install it after getting a new PC. I'm now on the probe droid mission for Aeron, so you can see how far behind I am. Anyway, I can only say that the ranks go by how many craft you destroy in each mission...
JeepaPaedm
Don't forget to blow up imperial pilots....at 10 points each they all add up!!! JP
harvickrules01
Do the points that u get in Family missions count with the TOD points, the rank points (Marksman, Ace.....) or do they stand alone? Rebel Loyaltist
Don't worry I know how ya feel harvickrules01. The same thing happened to me when i first played. Espcially since I used to be General in Tie Fighter. Hopefully when I get my new comp I re-install it and even if I die I'm gonna be a General by the time I finish XWA! ------------------ If you leap before you look, I'm not catching you sorry ass!
