Kurgan Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 A good point. I was saying that tons of people map and tons of people skin, but very few actually code. You guys didn't have that problem because some of the stuff was already done for you, and no SP SDK, so heh. Of course if you really want to do the game justice you're going to have to do some coding, but not nearly as much coding as say, somebody who was doing JK or Deus Ex in the Source engine!

[501]GA Tarkin Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 From what I had seen, the Dark Forces for doom3 was dead. Dark Forces redux, the mod I started for Hl2 is alive and well. I am aware of the large task ahead, however if I am able to bring the dark forces story to people that have never played it before I will be satisfied. DarkStarMojo Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Considering my pc can't handle Doom 3 or Half Life 2 and so much exceptional work has already been done by this team, I think I'll always consider the Jedi Academy DF Mod my official Dark Forces remake. Still, best of luck to the HL2 team. If they can make a good mod (and I can get a better rig) then I'll certainly play it too.

It appears that the Doom 3 one has been presumed dead, so you might have a bit more trouble finding it. Be sure to tell us if you find anything. See DF in the Source engine does sound interesting... Can't wait to see a couple screens of it, although I can't say it interests me much more than that at the moment (especially since I don't have HL2).
