Disguise crashes?

Ok, I have been trying to make some custom armors that change the PC appearance to that of the Ubese bounty hunter and Sith assassin using the 'disguise' property in the latest KT. But for some reason, the game crashes as soon as the armor is equipped. It's odd because I tried other models such as the complete mandalorian armor, and it runs fine. Is there something wrong with those models? Am I doing something wrong?

PS. The Ubese model is Sith_Assassin_01, and the Sith one is Dark_Jedi_Low_Male_01.

Thanks.

this can be a common problem with disguise property features for some reason sometimes the game will like it other times it won't. If you open the uti file up with a GFF editor outside of KT and set the diguise property as well as make certain that the entries match the ones in the 2da file in overide. This is usually the most fool proof fail safe method. However there is no guaruntee the disguise property will work.

Yep. I've been looking into it a bit more and it seems to be some problem with the model's head. Apparently, the Ubese model has a 'separate' head, which the other common models used for disguise have not. I have got it to work by creating a new entry in the appearance.2da and changing the model type from 'B' to 'F' (whatever the hell that means), but then the head is missing. I think this is a bit out of my league right now.

Thanks anyway.

The best way to find out if a certain model will work as a disguise is to change the model of your player or npc's with KSE (Make back ups of your save games before you attempt this)

I tried out a couple of those Low,med and high models and they all appear to not work. its best to change your crew npc models as most people save the game with the PC as the leader and if the game loads the PC with Bad appearance you could get a crash. But if there is a bad appearce loaded on an npc they would just appear invisable Just don't switch the leader to them if they are invisable.

Oddly enough, both the Sith_Assassin_01 and Dark_Jedi_Low_Male_01 seemed to work for me when I used KSE to change appearance.

I believe it's a conflict with the PC's head because in the appearance.2da both of those have a numerical value under the 'normalhead' column, while Unique_Revan, Alien_Mandalorian and the likes of those have only asterisks.

For the Sith assassins it makes sense because you see them with different heads in the game, but the Ubese are all the same...

I was planning on doing something like this my self but I was gonna reskin the Dark_Jedi_Low_Male_01 and make it more dark looking, but anyway since you can't get it to work as an armor maybe you can get it to work as an armband like the Holowan Cloakworks mod for KOTOR 1 at Andargor's HQ

I was thinking about trying to use the Ubese model as a new set of armour myself, but if the model has crash issues, it might end up being more trouble than it's worth. The Ubese armour looks so damn cool though. It's a step up from any of the standard PC armours, I find.

In any case, here's hoping you manage to get the model working as a disguise. I'd certainly like to see it.
