bhanlon7
The final head for my movie head pack will be a Luke head. This is what I've got so far: http://img72.echo.cx/img72/7641/untitled14nt.jpg
Nodakrattler
Looks good. Another head I'm going to have to add.
Jeff
Looks good Another good movie head to add to the collection
Mono_Giganto
It's looking good, but if you're altering the model I suggest trying to pull the hair down over the ears, if possible. Heads aren't my thing.
bhanlon7
I changed the hair a bit: http://img63.echo.cx/img63/7922/untitled4ye.jpg

General Kenobi
The skins a good job but to be honest I don't see it as looking like Luke.

I agree with you, but I can't think of how to make it look like Luke. This model seemed like the best choice, but the hair isn't right. If anyone can suggest another model that would be better, I would appreciate it. Perhaps there is an NPC model that would fit?
samuel
I think it kinda does, but before you start on a new head, can you just do a little re-colouring? If u used paintshop pro you could adjust the skin colour a tad and make the hair abit lighter and abit blonder (not too much, his hair is fairly dark ay)...it may look just like him afterwards
Jeff
Yeah I think it is the head that looks most like him, I looked and I didn't see another that would look better. I agree with Mudrat, if you change the skintone and hair color a bit it would look more like him.

bhanlon7
How's this? http://img174.echo.cx/img174/8692/compare7gq.jpg
KillerWave
I like the first face texture, but the second head hair texture. Id up the nose a bit and give it longer hair, covering the ears. Other than that, I really like it.
samuel
If you keep those hair bits you had before, keep the colour scheme you have now and up the nose a tad it will be perfect! Nice job, i think the recolouring job worked great!
bhanlon7
I am having a problem editing the model. After making the hair longer, when I try to export out of nwmax/gmax, I get an error. It says 'Sanity Check failed for some models'.
samuel
Hmm yeah its happened to me before and i dont know what i did to fix it...Maybs its something to do with the ResetXform? Just a guess
Jeff
The newer head looks pretty good, the colors are much more closer to what Luke's head really looks like. I wish I could help you on your exporting problem.
Mono_Giganto
Did you hit resetXform?
bhanlon7
Originally posted by Mono_Giganto Did you hit resetXform? Yes, but I can't tell if it did anything. After hitting resetxform, I still get the error when attempting to export. EDIT: I got it to work, the reason I was getting the error was because in order to see what I was doing, I rotated the model. I needed to rotate it back to its original position. EDIT AGAIN: Can I use the original mdx file, or do I need to make a new one for this model, and if so how do I do that?
Mono_Giganto
You should be able to run the mdl through cchargin's MDL Ops, and it will give you the binary mdl and mdx.
bhanlon7
mdlops gives me an error when I try to do that, it looks like this: http://img42.echo.cx/img42/1560/error7cz.jpg
SuperSquall
Suggestions: Hair - looks a little plastic-esque. Grab the hair texture off of the default head for the model you are working with and re-insert it. Once you've done that use the color *curves* (CTRL + M) to increase the RGB and maybe a little bit of green or red to make it look more like the Luke Skywalker blonde. Skin - Decrease the contrast, it's too high overall. Erase the chin 'bum' and then re-insert it, but this time make a new layer and do a circular gradient fading from solid black or red-black to transparent out from the center, then tinker with the opacity of that layer to get the desired darkness. Around the eyes - way too much red there, replace it with the regular shade skin tone and then add the shade back but use a more monochrome color that is less heavy on the red. Maybe painting it in with #100000 @ 15% opacity, and do is many strokes as you need. Lips - look chapped. Try using changing the Hue (or color curves and add a bit of green) so it looks closer to the skin tone by a *little* bit and then clean up that patchy looking area on the top of the edge of his lip. Cheek - The faint line that forms a crease in his face is great.
bhanlon7
The other heads that I had planned to put in this pack are done, but I think this one could use more time. So, I've decided to put out the ones that I have finished, and then later on when this is finished and I've got several others, I will do a volume 2. The heads that will be in volume 1 are: Obi-Wan (young), Obi-Wan (old), Lando, Han Solo,Palpatine and Leia. Even though three of these heads are already out, they were replacing default heads. This pack will make them additional heads. I will have it ready in a few days, Monday at the latest.
