A little texture help...

I was wondering if someone could give me a link to the texture files, and what they reference in KotOR Tool. I'd really like to retexture Thon's, Natth Cowling, Keto's, and Jeth's robes, but I can't find the textures for them.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Textures for robes can be found in

ERFs > swpc_tex_tpa.erf > P

TSL kinda tricks you as they use the female textures for all Master Robes regardless of gender, so try the PFB textures first... :)

if you double-click on a texture to view it, click back on the KT main program and use your arrow keys to scroll through the textures quicker ;)

Open the item blueprints for these items and check two fields. First check the baseitem, and you'll see that all those robes have it set to Jedi Master Robe. The Jedi Master robe uses Body Variation N (this is set in baseitems.2da). This is used in naming their textures. Thus Jedi Master robe textures names begin with "PFBN".

Next, look at the TextureVariation field and take note of that value. This is the same as the numeric part of the texture file name.

Then you'll see that they use the following textures:

Thon's Robe (a_robe_28.uti) - PFBN08.tpc

Natth Cowling (a_robe_22.uti) - PFBN07.tpc

Aleema Keto's Robe (a_robe_24.uti) - PFBN11.tpc

Arca Jeth's Robe (a_robe_23.uti) - PFBN15.tpc

Thanks, that really helped a lot. Now if I could ask for the textures for revan's robes, the jalshey and zeisonsha armors, and on another note, how do I section off image maps to recolor certain areas? Such as if I wanted to just recolor the breastplate or tunic on a robe? I've tried everything everybody I've asked, to no avail. Once I get past this hurdle, I'll be >almost< ready to release my first item pack.

Thanks for your help in advance.

If you have a section of armor that you wanna recolor I'd load it in game to get an idea of what it looks like (maybe take a screenshot for a guide). Then open up your armor's extracted .tga file. Find the section you want to recolor and then use a selection tool (polygon selection tool in photoshop) and make clicks to outline your section.

Then click on (in photoshop) layers/new adjustment layer/ and do a hue & saturation. Then adjust the sliders and play with the settings to get it the color you want. Then click ok.

You have made an "adjustment" layer :D You simply repeat this process over and over till you get your .tga file the way you want it.

People use Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Canvas to edit .tga files. I believe all have a free trial for 30 days and the like.

I'd play around with the Adjustment Layers and the effects they can have on your graphic.

Hope that helps a bit ;)
