BA-Kraft
Ok, I've been trying all I can think of to make this lightsaber work I've come up with. I've followed the tutorials to the letter and when i click on it in the inventory, the game freezes. Would anyone care to take a look at it? Maybe tell me how i can fix it? Click Here to Download Edit by d333: just fixed your link as it was broken oops...it still doesn't work: when using Walataga, click on the view file tab, then select the file. Copy the link in the small box just below where it says " File URL: " . If you copy the link at the top of the page, others will not be able to view anything. The_Maker
I believe the term is "fubar" Anyways, could you describe your porblem a little better? Telling us what wrong with it and what you changed would be a big help
BA-Kraft
Ok, I followed the saber tutorial available somewhere round here. I pulled an exisiting saber using KOTOR tool and redid everything. Made the new saber's ID 86, so there's no conflicts (at least on mine) and I did a new tga. I also redid the hex code, changing the reference lines to go for the new colour I'd made. however when it comes to equiping the saber, i click on the item to see the stats and the game just freezes. The complete saber is in the zip...by all accounts it should work. I'll try removing it from the upcrystals, see if that helps anything...though i doubt it. Any ideas? PS, I'd considerred FUBAR, but methinks it's overused...
The_Maker
Well, since this isn't a normal situation I don't think snafu would work Anyways, I am downloading the saber now... I will look at it asap. Btw, is it for TSL or Kotor? The game doesn't like it when you cross game datas Edit: erm... when I type in the url link it says your session has timed out
Achilles
If your game freezes, then that means you're missing an important saber component in your mod. Did you correctly rename your mdl/mdx files?
BA-Kraft
As far as I'm aware. Assuming I don't figure this out, I'll start again from scratch. If anybody does make it workable, I'd appreciate it if they could tell me how they did it. As it is I'm trying to learn to mod so I'd appreciate any breakthroughs. I'll double-check my file names. Thanks Achilles mate.
Achilles
No worries. I'd be happy to take a look at it, but as The_Maker pointed out, the link you provided doesn't work. Also, keep in mind that unless you're adding a new saber model to the game (as opposed to replacing an existing saber), you can probably do everything that you need to with KT's property editor (there's also a tutorial for that). It might save you some time and some heart ache.
Darth333
I tried to fix your link but couldn't: check my comment in the first post.
BA-Kraft
Ahh, this link should work then: - click here Thanks err...now it works but I had to fix it...when you post a link on the forums, make sure the syntax is [ URL=http://blabla.com ]click here[ /URL ] and not [ URL=click here]http://blabla.com[/ URL] (remove the spaces too or it won't work) - d333
Achilles
I'll have to wait till I can get home to look at the "innards", but in the mean time, try removing the .tpc file from the Override and fire it up again. Also you mentioned that the crash occured when you clicked on it to see the stats. Does this mean that you can get it into game and equip it? cchargin
Hello, Related to what The_Maker asked: Is your source saber the correct version? If you use a KOTOR 2 model source then you will create a KOTOR 2 model. Easy way to check is to load your source saber into MDLOps and the title bar will tell you what KOTOR version the model is from.
Achilles
BA-Kraft, Your mdl/mdx files are bad. Extract them again, hex edit your mdl file to reference your new blade texture, rename your files, and you should be good to go. Just tested it out and it worked fine. I hope that helps. BA-Kraft
Cheers Achilles. I'm working on it now. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for all the help.
