jonathius2
Hi everyone, This is my first post but I've been hanging around the forums for a couple of weeks now. I've noticed a problem this morning and was hoping someone could help me with it. I added a new line to the appearance.2da file for the purposes of installing Svosh's Juhani Sanctuary Robes. Everything seemed fine until I went to the GFF Editor. I was going to make sure I had the right number of the new line so I reopened the 2da file and I noticed the line I added wasn't there. I thought I saved it because I clicked on the line "save as 2DA v2.b file" and I know I saved it to the Override directory because it asked if it was okay to overwrite the previous file and I clicked yes. I tried doing this again and the same thing happened. I added the line, saved it (apparently) but when I reopen appearance.2da the line is gone. I also noticed it didn't save my change to Bastila's Envmap Column. So I changed it from Default to Cm_Baremetal but it won't stick either. Has anyone had this problem before? I'm not sure whats going. Upon opening KOTOR Tool, I get two messages. The first is Chitin.key file altered. I have installed custom packages so I assume thats why its altered. The second message I get is Chitin.key file not valid. I got this message upon first installing KOTOR Tool, which was before I started getting the message about the file being altered. Is this perhaps the reason my appearance.2da changes aren't saving? Any advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks.
Darth333
Just click on another line than the one you just edited before saving Don't worry about the chitin.key error message: this appears because the official patch modified it but everything works fine despite of that. jonathius2
Thanks for the quick reply. I think I figured out what was wrong. When I went to open the appearance.2da file listed in the main menu, the changes I made weren't showing up. But when I opened the 2da editor and loaded the appearance.2da file from there, the changes showed up. Not sure why it would do that but as long as it works, I'm not complaning. Does this apply to other files edited by KOTOR Tool as well? Was wondering since I've run into similar situations in other files, both 2da and other formats. General Kenobi
Well I'm not Darth333 but I'll answer anywho Yeah sometimes that happens and it is normal. I've had it happen in portraits, heads, appearance & other custom 2da's. If you do what Darth333 said you should be good to go though General Kenobi
