Ships retexturing

Hello i'm very new here ...

i tried to retexture ships .. but i don't know how extract one ship and his texture to work on it ... and after reload it into the game .. someone could give me explanation ???

Welcome to the Forums!

 

 

Well first you need Kotor Tool. Which you can get at the Tools page. Then you need to go to ERF's -- Texture Packs -- TPA -- and then go to the ship you want. Assuming you would want to retexture the Ebon Hawk, you would have to go into every single module Letter, IE: D -- DAN_xxx and look for the ebon hawk, you would have to do htis for each one.

 

What ship is it you watn to retexture?

ok, i have the kotor tools, i see the section ERF/texturepack/..tpa/DAN xxx

fisrt i will tried to redo the ebon to learn that's !!!

i could see any name call ebon ...

where i can find one list of file explanation ???

where i can find the ebon model ?? to load it into Gmax to see the result ???

i read i needs mdx file to convert it to gmax ... but i cannot find any mdx file ...

i totaly lost !!!!

dxn_Sithlander.tga, for the sith Lander

DXN_Frtr.tga, for one freighter

the sith fighter too

the republic fighter

the republic cruiser

the hammerhead

the leviathan

 

do you know, where i can can other ships ???

as the ravager !!! or the basalik and the goto ...

The ship textures will not change what happens in CGI cutscenes, those are prerendered, So hte Leviathon, and Sith and Republic fighter are no go's. The republic cruiser you can do but it will only show up on Peragus.

 

AS for the ebon hawk, make sure you retexture it for every single module.

If you mean the Ebon hawk go to the Aurora Model and MDX section in the BIF -- Models section and Find ebon_01 i THINK and put them into a directory and use MDLOPS to make it an acsii model to open up in max, apply your texturre and your good.

 

I did this once (extracted the ebon hawk) to make a cgi cutscene. Works pretty well.
