cry_of_paine
A few of the things that I've been interested in doing have run into legal issues. I think I've got a fairly good handle on the do's and don'ts with respect to most everything. One of the things that I'm not sure about however are voices. For instance, I would imagine that putting dialog from 1 into 2 is a no no. Also, taking dialog from, as an example, Jeanette from Vampire: Bloodlines and using that for the Handmaiden would probably not be kosher (or make much sense ). However, what about recording sound bytes from say Daphnie on Scooby Doo and using those to pad the Handmaiden's scripts? For that matter, what makes redistrubuting material from the same game legal, but from different games illegal? Now I know why I went into computers instead of law. Emperor Devon
You might want to just keep it to yourself - using anything copyrighted in a mod is strictly prohibited, and if you're found out, you could get sued. You can still make it for personal use, though.
General Kenobi
Yep I agree on the legality thang. I believe the legality resides in using say a Raven Software generated voice from one of their games to add in dialogue in TSL. I think it's more the game to game issue rather than movie or tv show to TSL kinda legal. Could be wrong BUT might be right...lol I do the same for myself. Stinger gave me the idea of replacing ALL TSL music with John Williams work from the movies (which BTW is fracking awesome) General Kenobi
