kiragon
Is JA any different to the way you edit JO? If it isn't anyone know some good tutorials? Im getting some wierd things happening. There is no Z axis on the left hand side, even though i have specified the layout to be that way (default) and another thing i can select a brush, but not its face, so i can't texture 2 sides of a brush differently? Any help would be great thanks. Thanks, Kiragon
riceplant
I don't know about the Z-axis, it should be there. You don't need it, though, as you can just switch the main pane to a front or side view. Perhaps it's off the side of your screen? You do have radiant maximised and are using a screen resolution of at least 1024.768, right? As for selecting individual faces, chances are they select, but just don't highlight. Do the brushes get tinted red when you select them? I have a problem where selected faces/brushes don't turn red, but you can still texture them fine. And I don't think there is any difference in how you edit JA (Except I'm not sure if the waypoint_navgoalx entities work in JA).
wedge2211
You can select faces by pressing CTRL+SHIFT and clicking, or CTRL+ALT+SHIFT and click to add/subtract faces from your selection. If you're still confused, check the shortcut list or preferences to see which keys exactly are bound to face selection, it's possible you've set something that chagnes it. The 'J' key cycles through selection indication methods - wireframe and tint, tint, wireframe, none. You can't see which faces are selected in the wireframe or no indication modes, but those let you see the true texture applied to the brush. Just mash the J key a few times, riceplant. [Edit: corrected a techinical error.]
kiragon
I figured it out i just re-installed radiant after uninstalling anyother radiant that was installed. I did check all the obvious things like screen resolution and stuff, i have been mapping since outcast was released, but been working with rtcw and decided that i'll try and do a bit of academy. Thanks for your help guys. K
