idle
Would Darth Vader (80% machine) be able to hold up in a fight against a fully trained Jedi/Sith in his prime? Imagine Darth Maul with a few more years training in the force being able to weild his dual lightsaber and use force lightning, or Vader vs. Yoda (not near deathbed). Since most of his limbs had been hacked off and he had his little bath in some lava this negates his ability to learn all the ways of the force (I assume). Was Darth Vader conceded to the fact he would need Luke to turn to the dark-side for him to survive in the Galaxy?
Darth Rossi
wat is with you? i see this idle dude putting posts up everywhere and none of them make sense. Vader is one with the dark side of the force and his power is overwhelming. Why do you think he is feared by the whole galaxy and is the Emperors second hand man? he is a great pilot too. Skywalker would not have even made a dent in protecting Vader if thats wat you mean. Watch the other sw series again or research Vader because you obviously have no intelligence of this topic (star wars i mean). sick of this ****! Darth Vader was being set up for a Dooku in Return of the Jedi only Luke believed in his father. Vader knew he needed Luke to defeat The Emperor, his original idea was to take The Emperor's place but obviously he turned to the light side. Where did get your Star Wars knowledge from, the back of a cereal box?
coupes.
Darth Rossi, please calm down and refrain from flaming other members. You only have 9 posts, and let me say it isn't a very good start. I suggest you read the rules before you continue posting. Since you've been told before, consider this your first warning.
idle
That was flaming? He's more making an ass out of himself than anyone else, let him away with it, go on.
Darth Rossi
well i suppose your both right. sorry idle i guess its the dark side in me....am i starting to turn? but i still dont understand your theory on Vader taking over the Emperor, wasnt he simply following the Emeperors orders? he is Vaders master after all. do they have Star Wars cereal? Hah. Apology accepted. <3 Vader knew the Emperor was after Luke as his new apprentice which according to the plan would happen when Luke killed Vader. Luke would have had more ability in the force than Vader, was younger and also wasn't half machine. That's when Vader asks Luke to join him and they can rule the Galaxy together "father and son" because Vader can see that he's about to be out of the Emperor's gameplan. There can only be two Sith at a time, a master and an apprentice. I'm merely questioning Darth Vader's ability to see the reaction since people everywhere take for granted Darth Vader is the most powerful and most feared bad-guy. What if he was around when most Jedi were around and he had to fight them in their prime? Would he have lost? Is that why Lucas didn't show Darth Vader doing what he does best in Episode III? And no, not over in Scotland anyway although I did get a full collection of lightsaber's from Kellog's Frosties a few months ago!
Jeff
I'm pretty sure somebody like Mace or Darth Maul could pwn machine Vader.
Kain
I'm pretty sure somebody like Mace or Darth Maul could pwn machine Vader. There was actually a comic of Vader vs Maul. I recall Vader winning - Maul was behind him, inching his saber closer and closer to Vader. So Vader ran himself through with his own saber, which obviously hurt Maul alot more than it hurt Vader, cuz Maul died and Vader did not.

guybroom
Hmmmm, i never thought that Vader was being set up like dooku before now. Good point. I suppose that if Luke was trained by two of the best jedi around, he would have probably had quite a lot of skill compared to anyone but whether or not Luke could have beaten his masters in their prime is an interesting question. Then, considering that Luke beats Vader, whether Vader could have beaten the jedi in their prime? I dont know. When Vader fights luke, he doesnt move as fast as when he's human anikan in the PT. Anikan couldnt really beat Obi-wan, but Obi was one of the best - maul and Grievous in his resume - but Anikan also has his fair share of victories - dooku and assaj ventres. So i have no real answer to whether Vader could have beaten the jedi in their prime, but I'm going to say no. And i got some of those kellogs lightsabers too! Jeff
I think I remember hearing that when they were planning out TPM, they knew that they had to make the lightsaber duels much more faster-moving and make the characters more proficient because Luke had never had any real saber training, and the Jedi in the prequals had been training all their lives. So that's another reason that Vader couldn't beat a PT Jedi or Sith.
