Katarn07
Anyone pick up the new Brothers in Arms yet? I loved the first one. Everything about it was great. Textures were a bit muddy but that's my one minor gripe. But from what I get out of the reviews, this one is more or less an expansion. Better AI, new playable character, and some new multiplayer modes. Is it worth the $50? Should I wait for a price drop/ Xmas gift or what?
RoxStar
I never checked out the first one, was it any good? When it first came out I was too sick of the World War II genre to play it. And the advertisements weren't very respectful to veterans, much like Battlefield 2:Modern Combat.
coupes.
I tried get a hold of a copy last week, but my local Wal-Mart (the only place I can get games around here) didn't have it yet. I'll try again this week. The game is not really an expansion, it uses the same graphic engine and the game mechanics are basically the same, but it's standalone and features a story closely intertwined with the story of the first game. You'll revisit some of the areas previously seen in the first game, but from another perspective, you'll learn more about character's backstories as well as meet new ones. I've heard the game was longer thant the first one, but I couldn't say how much longer, but it's definately harder. The enemy AI was greatly improved as the enemy now reacts and reajusts it's position when it spots a flanking maneuver. The enemy will even try to flank you if you're not careful, sometimes they'll even assault you if they feel they have an advantage on you. So, overall the enemy is more intelligent and more agressive, so you'll have to brush up on your skills All the multiplayer maps from the first game are being brought forward, and 10 more maps were created for EiB. The is also a completely new mode called "skirmish" where you can play alone, or co-op as american or german. Skirmish, like multiplayer is objective based, but you can also play in time attack mode and defend mode, where you try to survie against waves of enemies. There is a demo (1 SP map + 1 skirmish map) on the october edition of OXM I beleive, so you might try to get a hold of that before you make your choice, or you could alway rent it. since you liked the first one, I'm guessing you'll like this one as well as it's basically more of the same, with improvements here and there. Katarn07
I've decided to hold off on it. I'm replaying the first one on hard (holy crap, I can't believe I'm as far as I am! Normal was hard enough the first time through) I wanna get From Russia With Love and the Movies more.
StormHammer
I still haven't played through BIA yet. It's sitting on my shelf, but I've hardly played any games at all for a couple of months. Just starting to get back into CoD MP at the moment...so I'm in the mood for some WW2 jubbliness.
