Paragon_Leon
of course there will be critters !! the scene in TPM where those Trade Fed tanks come over the hill and those little animals run away... the wildlife on tatooine... the swamp-creatures on Naboo... the pets on a Rebel base.. Havoc Stryphe
There had better be critters! I want to see Wampas, Krayt dragons, Mynocks, eopies, dewbacks, taun-tauns, womprats, sarlaccs etc. It isn't star wars without 'em! I really want a see a Giant Space Slug ala ESB. But somehow I don't think it would work out
Paragon_Leon
why not ? he could work like the Worm in Dune 2000..

Paragon_Leon
in space battles, he could pop up out of an asteroid and eat one of your fighters / ships.... (Space-slug: "allright ! these once don't slip out ! hehe..")
Havoc Stryphe
Geez, with out Space slugs the odds of successfuly navigating an asteroid field are 7,431 to 1!
Paragon_Leon
that would make a nice space battle taunt ! oh, wrong topic..
Havoc Stryphe
Hey Leon, you ever get the feeling like we're the only two people on the board? On topic: I would love to see Krayt Dragons on a Desert world
Paragon_Leon
no, i have the feeling i'm the only one... :D yeah, we talked about Krayt Dragons a while earlier for a possible Tusken civ. there was some debate on whether or not they could fly. by the way.. does your avatar change every now and then ? cool. Havoc Stryphe
Sorry Leon, I had to actually do Work! Anyways, you will see my Avatar change frequently, for I think variety the spice of Life. By the way, Krayt Dragons originally were not to Fly, however in the Star Wars Episode 2, The design of Tusken Raider Camp we see will lend creedance to the theory that Krayts DO fly! So it's anybody's guess. I just Wish Lucas would show one ONSCREEN to end this silly debate! And by the way, I believe those were Krayt Dragons in Jedi Knight. they were wingless, stocky, lizard beasts that closely resembled a Anklyosaurus. Wether or not that is/was Lucas's Vision or LucasArts creative liscense, I don't know.
JediMasterEd
how about the rancor. it could pop out of a sand hole and eat your infantry whole. maybe the snow creature from ESB. it could drag your units and then have them for supper!
Paragon_Leon
i think i read somewhere that both rancors and wampa's will be included. think of them as the alligators / wolves / tigers from AOK; they can attack, but will generally leave you alone.. Guest Tie Guy
yes, why not have them in there? The space worm would be hard, unless you were playing on an asteroid. You should be able to convert them with Jedi, and then send them to attack the enemy's base. *remembers mind controlling cows with c4 on them into the enemies bases in RA2* that was fun. Guest Kayote
rancors running around eating people- for like a dathormir tileset or something
Guest blo0o
how come they have the naboo fighter and tie fighters and crap for the lil smily things but no x-wing or junk?! gay. vs. who would win?
Paragon_Leon
i'm sure they will expand it, Blooo. anyway, i wonder if on Coruscant, the critters will be those mouse droids that drive around really fast.
Havoc Stryphe
Originally posted by Paragon_Leon i wonder if on Coruscant, the critters will be those mouse droids that drive around really fast. Hehe, mouse droids as critters, now that's funny! I would love to see mouse droids running around the battle field!
Paragon_Leon
yeah, and you could blast them !! but in the movies, those droids were actually messenger-droids. so maybe you could get a secret message to an ally using mouse-droids ...
Havoc Stryphe
couldn't you just type the message....? but blasting 'em is cool. I love the noises those droids make!
Paragon_Leon
you could type it, but in the AOK engine, you'd have to press 'enter', then select who you'd be writing to, then write it, and then press enter again. just clicking on a default mouse droid that always goes to your ally would be a lot less hassle and would even make it part of the gameplay !! that way you would have both battle-traffic, trade-traffic and communications-traffic!! Havoc Stryphe
I know, I was just teasing....though that would make for alot of micromanagement, it would certainly be cool. And add to the realism, and submersion factor!
Paragon_Leon
hehe, all those terms flying around... 'submersion factor', 'cohesive gaming'... the things they must be thinking of us. well, since there's two kinds of critters in AOK (critters that attack and critters that don't), what critter do you think won't attack ?
