MdKnightR Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Anything by my favourite author kurt vonnegut I read Cats Cradle this summer. He is a really good writer, but the ending just seems sorta "blah" for lack of a better way to put it. It was an enjoyable read though.
CrudeMatter Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 The Screwtape Letters- by C.S. Lewis ...an under appreciated work of his imo if you dig science- The Great Mambo Chicken & the Transhuman Condition: Science Slightly Over the Edge- by Ed Regis I enjoyed the hell out of this one... a personal fave. The Dancing Wu Li Masters : An Overview of the New Physics- by Gary Zukav The Body Electric- Robert O. Becker MD & Gary Selden Black Holes & Time Warps: Einstein's Outrageous Legacy- Kip S. Thorne (A buddy/colleague of stephen hawking.) I've become interested in stuff by Henry Hazlitt, as well. One of the best bathroom books ever- The Great Thoughts- 'by' George Seldes (Quotes and conceptualizations by people from Archimedes to Zeno the Stoic.... great reading with lots of leads.) I also recommend A Course in Miracles. (really tough if you give it your dedication. Not light reading.) btw- I agree with MdK... Dragonlance is all about Weis & Hickman. Terry Brooks does some pretty good stuff too... especially the early 3-4 of the Shannara books. Heinlein and Asimov have always been highly recommended, but I moved from science-fiction to science very early. (I think that is half the point. -see Great Mambo Chicken) ....and I could go on and on, but this list will make your brain liquefy. Info-tainment!
JediKnight707 Posted November 5, 2005 Author Posted November 5, 2005 I just finished reading a GREAT book called I am the Messenger bu Markus Zusak. Awesome book.
Sabretooth Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 I've finished reading all of Dan Brown's. He's an excellent writer with a knack for suspense. I read several different books. My latest was the Godfather.
